BOSTON (Reuters) - Police in Massachusetts are pursuing criminal charges against a man for posting the words "put wings on pigs" on his Facebook page, a phrase similar to the one posted by a man who killed two officers in New York City last weekend.
The latest case showed heightened concerns among U.S. law enforcement after the execution-style ambush of the two policemen, and could raise free speech questions.
Police in Chicopee, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) west of Boston, said on Tuesday they filed a criminal complaint on Monday against Charles Dirosa, a 27-year-old resident, after an anonymous tip about the Facebook post, police spokesman Michael Wilk said.
"After the events of the past few days, the department took this threat very seriously," he said.
A clerk at the Chicopee District Court said a judge would evaluate whether to proceed with the charges. Dirosa has not been arrested or detained. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer and attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
A gunman, identified by police as Ismaaiyl Brinsley, on Saturday shot two New York City police officers while they were sitting in their cruiser. Brinsley killed himself with a shot to the head soon after.
Brinsley's posts on Instagram, a mobile photo-sharing application, indicated he had been motivated by the deaths of unarmed black men Michael Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of police officers. Shortly before his attack he wrote "I'm putting wings on pigs today."

Sorry, piggies, that is "protected political speech." See Brandenburg v. Ohio.

Now, if he was at the police station, and said "I'm going to put wings on that pig Officer Dave Brown today," they might have a case.

I don't think it is a coincidence that this report :

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-30/fbi-report-accidentally-exposes-severity-police-state

came out less than a month ago, showing how remarkably easy cops have it. And then after that, we get "horrific" murders.

The cops like to pick and choose the easy targets and then sensationalize the hell out of them like they are doing society some huge favor by being there. An example would be the headlines where they kicked in the doors of someone at 3 am when they were sleeping with a no knock warrant. The headlines will read aboput how bad this person was for Manufacturing that evil drug marijuana.

What they fail to realize is that everyone from 70 on down to HS kids know its a fairly harmless recreational activity to smoke a joint or 3. So noone believes the BS headlines anyway and they scare evryone into a plea deal so they can extract money from them for the next 5 years instead of facing a possible GF situation with Bubba. Probably less than 1% of all cases go to trial.
So now they have created this population of criminals whos lives are destroyed because of a plant. We also have hewadline after headline of the cops walking when they should be brought up on murder charges. (Brown wasnt one of them by the way).

So whats the population supposed to do? Wait until its their turn? How many wrong houses were kicked in by them that resulted in death, yet noone is charged? How much loot and property are stolen every year due to assett forfeture? Some may be guilty of some other crime, some not but charges are never filed, just property stolen.
And now they wonder why they are targets? Not all cops are bad and in fact I have never encountered one but what I see now is what Ron Paul likes to refer to as blowback. They created this and they can fix it by policing themselves in a fair manner and by changing policy.
