Gee, what sort of twisted mind could conceive of such a thing? (rhetorical question)

Next time a crack house explodes or somebody is choking on a chicken bone don't expect the firefighters or paramedics to rush their asses to get there.
It's coming, and it's going to be bad.

There was an old FDNY book written years ago, 70's, about firefighters in New York. This was back when they rode on the tails of the trucks and engines, they were shot at a lot. Back then, they had alarm boxes throughout the cities. People being attacked, etc, would pull the fire box just to get help. The engines would show up, firefighters in full gear, to find a crime scene.
I searched a burning building for victims myself, to find the house was lit on fire to cover up a meth lab. Gas cans filled hidden through the house, but they didn't go up because if they did I would be dead.
I've heard lots of stories. I've thought firefighters should carry guns to protect themselves, but cant take a gun into a burning building.
edit: Read Dennis Smiths book, Report from Engine Company 82. Great book, must read, imo. If you have any interest in the fire service, it's a must read.

edit again, I should add, years ago if you were a firefighter in New York, you made such little money that if you had a couple of kids, you qualified for food stamps. Not sure what it's like today, but God Bless those men for that. They don't do it for the money, its because they love it. There's nothing...nothing like jumping on an Engine and responding to a call. Nothing like it.

It definitely entails a very seriously fucked up mindset. Hell, it could even be agents provocateur attempting to ignite something.

And with legal propaganda it might or might not have actually happened.
