Anti-armor munitions are devastating

[Editor’s Note: The photo above came as no surprise as these TOW missiles could have been sourced from a variety of players, especially from old supplies.
But that then requires the technical skills to refurbish them to operational grade and keep them that way.

Hoodlum Jihadis recruited from the neighborhood gangs in Arab countries certainly do not have the skills to maintain these weapons, nor are they being sent to training school, other than on how to shoot them like the guy above. Western contractors, including Intel agencies, including Turkey…are on the short list who have the capacity to provide those skills.

The big surprise for me was the caption describing an extremely valuable TOW being wasted in an intra-insurgent territorial fight, versus being saved to use on Syrian Army armor, where they can fire up a tank like lighter fluid on a tissue paper box.

The NeoCons in Congress have long been pressing to provide the Free Syrian Army with these more sophisticated weapons to help stem the tide of their being rolled up by the Syrian Army.

They were warned from people like VT that the training and weapons would find their way over to the hard core Jihadis as the process of the switching sides to whoever seemed to be more successful and could pay more was already established.

A Jihadi fighter changing groups and bringing over a TOW missile can get a nice cash reward for his efforts, and this also is happening.

But those we warned about this had no fear of being held responsible for “arming the opposition”.

Hardly anyone takes any responsibility for disasters these days, from the top down. This contributes greatly to what we call these “slow motion train wrecks”, where they just go on and on and on, despite the obvious reality that the policy, and strategy is not working.

It takes superior leadership to acknowledge a non-working strategy and adjust the game plan, which can include withdrawal.

We have to figure out how to break out of this paradigm…but selling “taking responsibility” is a tough task as everyone interprets that is advocating a sacrificial lamb be found to blame, and they have a very good point there… Jim W. Dean (http://www.veteranstoday.com/staff-writers) ]
