The explosion happened at around 10:45 a.m. The FBI said that someone detonated an improvised explosive device against an outside wall of the building. A gas can that was placed next to the IED did not ignite.
Many of the tweets using the hashtag expressed frustration over the lack of national media coverage about the attack.

The FBI said Tuesday evening that the potential person of interest in this investigation is a white male, approximately 40 years of age and balding. He may be driving a 2000 or older model dirty, white pick-up truck with paneling, a dark colored bed liner, open tailgate, and a missing or covered license plate. Anyone with information was asked to call the FBI Denver tip line at 303-435-7787.
The building that was targeted is located in the 600 block of S. El Paso Street in a neighborhood east of downtown Colorado Springs. It also houses a tax business and a salon. The FBI said Tuesday that it cannot confirm that the NAACP was the intended target.

Media's reply:

"Sorry guys, we are REALLY busy right now building up this FF event concocted to promote the "scary mooslem" meme. If we want to keep our jobs, this BS better stick! The bosses were a little pissed when the Sandy Hoax got picked apart and shown for what it really was, so we are going back to what has worked in the past, with a few twists thrown in. If we have time, we'll try to get your "bombing" some exposure... thanks for your patience!"
