Newly-released video shows the harrowing moments after a pickup truck crashed into a bus in New Mexico (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/mexico.htm) – an accident that sent the bus driver hurtling through the windshield.
The accident happened Friday, Jan. 2, in Albuquerque.
ABC affiliate KOAT acquired the video (http://www.koat.com/news/video-truck-slams-albuquerque-bus/30584714), which shows the accident from multiple angles.
The truck driver ran a red light, police told KOAT.
Cameras inside the bus show the driver struggling to steer following the crash, and later flying over the steering wheel after the bus collided with a sign post.

No seat belt... This is why I wear mine, to stay in control. If he was strapped in he would have probably missed whatever he landed into.

When I was a small boy my parents where talking with a older gentleman and discussing an accident he was recently in.
Upon impact, he was thrown to the side of the car (bench seats in those days) and the steering wheel came up into the back seat.
He kept saying it was a GOOD THING he was NOT wearing his seat belt or that steering wheel would have crushed him to death.

Never did like them after that.
