It cost more to send the items overseas than what the military pay for it......the US government should make peace with China and Russia and get what we need from them....hummmmmmmm, I forgot...already getting our military equipment from China. We have to pay the American workers to much to have them made here in the US.

Maybe it will be good that we pull out, the country's that we do pull out will take a economic hit from the loss. Also maybe it is time for other country's to stand up for themselves and not rely on our military to provide their protection.

This is more evidence that the American Empire is crumbling. How can a power that can print money that is good throughout the world be broke? Well, that happens when people prefer to NOT use the money you print because they regard it as worthless. The US is on the edge of having worthless money, and seems to prefer printing it for other more important projects (such as bailing out criminal banks). This is a foolish mistake because the two pillars of empire are the money and the military. The money should support the military above all other uses. If it doesn't the military cannot support the money by killing people who refuse to use it (like Saddam Hussein, and the Iranians). Our politicians will succeed in killing America by their inept misunderstanding of the role of money in empire.

Whatever gave you the impression that the 'politicians' in the District of Corruption give a shit about anything but their own interests*??

*interests which include sacrificial offerings to their lord Satan, fattening their portfolios and bank accounts, diddling children and sex slaves, getting loaded, putting on a big show so they can feel good about themselves, etc.

I have no illusions that the politicians are interested in anything but their own careers--I'm just pointing out that nobody should believe that their votes on any issue is based on knowledge or wisdom about the results of their votes. They don't need to understand anything so long as their votes are loyal to the people who have bought them. All the politicians need to know is how to keep the money and power coming to them instead of leaving them. By this measure it seems that the people who bought the politicians want to destroy America by having the politicians vote for laws and policies that will have that result. TPTB seem to think that their banks are more important than military bases throughout the world.

Britain once had bases all around the world too. As did France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, etc. What happened to their empires? They crumbled into shadows of their former selves. Now it's our turn.

This news is quite disturbing. There simply is no reason that the AAFES/NEX is not fully-supplied at all times. Only an Empire on the verge of collapse has trouble keeping its troops happy.

Reminds me of the Presidential debates a few years back, when everyone appeared in a state of shock that Ron Paul mentioned closing bases overseas.

I imagine its just some sort of trade off to more closer domestic forces ultimately under the same control strings.

When you spot smoke do you not surmise fire beneath?

Smoke is the symptom. EPA would have you pouring steam on the smoke to relieve the symptom yet the root cause is combustible material, oxygen and a source of ignition. Combustible material comes from plant growth. Plants grow faster when given abundant carbon dioxide. Therefore the real root cause of the fire is cow farts and well fed politicians.
