A bystander has told of how she was shopping for cornflakes when a dramatic hostage situation unfolded yards away in a kosher supermarket in Paris.
Hostages were taken by gunman Amedy Coulibaly - believed to be linked to the Charlie Hebdo attack suspects - and a bloody stand-off ensued in which at least four people were killed, including the hostage taker.
Student Laure Boutmy, 23, was holed up in a supermarket almost directly opposite the Jewish hypermarket that was hit.
Ms Boutmy was in the Monoprix store in the Porte de Vincennes area when the siege started to happen.
Speaking from the scene, she told Yahoo News UK: "I am with about 50 people inside the shop. Police told the shop owners to lock the doors and keep everyone downstairs. I had no idea what was happening at first.. I was just buying cornflakes when it happened."
[LIVE BLOG: Terrorists 'killed' in double shootout] (https://uk.news.yahoo.com/paris-shooting-je-suis-charlie-hebdo-attack-live-coverage-151842914.html#oZma1oV)Ms Boutmy, who has lived in the area for two years, is now back safe in her home half a kilometre away from the scene of the siege after police secured safe passage away from the area.
She said: "The people who work in the shop gave us water and looked after us. After what happend two days ago we were so shocked we didn't think it could happen again."
Armed officers stormed the Hypercasher Vincenne store this afternoon.
Coulibaly had threatened to kill hostages if police acted against the Kouachi brothers, who started their murderous spree on Wednesday morning when they attacked the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The shootout at the supermarket started shortly after the Kouachis were shot when they emerged from their bolt-hole in Dammartin-en-Goele, a town around 25 miles (40km) north of Paris.
Ambulances streamed away from both scenes after the gunfire and explosions which brought the sieges to an end.
Hostages from the supermarket could be seen being led to safety.
There were reports of at least four dead in the supermarket siege, which would take the death total since Wednesday to 20.
