which is a while back now but hey................

the first coin i ever earned , my father gave it too me and before then I guess I had never had any money.

It was maybe a 10c piece(not worth as much now of course) and I distinctly remember taking the coin ,looking at it and feeling disappointed in the fact that the coin itself had no real value but seemed like it was made and we where supposed to believe in it.

Seemed like fraud at the time.

What my subconscious was really hoping for was that the coin I was given had value within itself, on its own , but alas that was not the case.

i thought money was a big thing because people shaped their lives around it but it wasnt ,it looked more like a token.

may of been 4 or 5 at the time.

oh and ding ding 18$ silver is back.....................

I'm training my kids well. I was surprised the other day when my 3rd grader came home from school and declared she found a silver dime. I had to break the bad news to her that her dime was 1965, but hey that means she knows to look for silver in her change! I gave her the tip that the rim of a silver coin looks much different than a clad coin, popped out a silver dime and we compared the two.

can't eat Stupid Sh.t either ... but people spend LOADS of money on Stupid Sh.t.

I'm amazed sometimes, when I got to the supermarket & look at other people's carts.

or paper............

Paper is part of a high fiber diet (and our in house dog seems to be on that diet).

Of course, gold and silver are high in minerals...

And i thank God everytime i go shopping i can pick up canned and dry goods at a pittance because the sheeple are going gaga over the next mass marketed food item.

I can get canned salmon, tuna, noodles spices at decent prices still.

When I was a little dude I spent a week or two at my grandfathers in the summer. One chore was to rake up the apples under the apple tree. This took nearly 4 or 5 hours (I was little). My grandfather paid me a nickle. I didn't know much about money but knew that he ganked me. He told me that is what they got paid to work all day at the auto factory years ago. Kind of put things in perspective for me. Todays dollar...

I remember buying my first pair of genine Levi's with a five dollar silver certificate and getting a silver dollar and 15 cent for change. There was a saying posted above the bar in the old hotel "Oh give me a big silver dollar to throw on the bar with a bang. A dollar all wrinkled and creased will do in the east, but here in the west we want our money to clang!"

we refered to paper dollars as "Jew flags" when I was a kid.
