1% theory confirmed
--------------------
Super rich hedge fund managers are buying 'secret boltholes' where they can hideout in the event of civil uprising against growing inequality, it has been claimed.
Nervous financiers from across the globe have begun purchasing landing strips, homes and land in areas such as New Zealand so they can flee should people rise up.
With growing inequality and riots such as those in London in 2011 and in Ferguson and other parts of the USA last year, many financial leaders fear they could become targets for public fury.
Robert Johnson, president of the Institute of New Economic Thinking, told people at the World Economic Forum in Davos that many hedge fund managers were already planning their escapes.
He said: “I know hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand because they think they need a getaway."
Mr Johnson, said the economic situation could soon become intolerable as even in the richest countries inequality was increasing.
He said: "People need to know there are possibilities for their children – that they will have the same opportunity as anyone else.
"There is a wicked feedback loop. Politicians who get more money tend to use it to get more even money."
His comments were backed up by Stewart Wallis, executive director of the New Economics Foundation, who when asked about the comments told CNBC Africa: "Getaway cars the airstrips in New Zealand and all that sort of thing, so basically a way to get off. If they can get off, onto another planet, some of them would."
He added: "I think the rich are worried and they should be worried. I mean inequality, why does it matter?
"Most people have heard the Oxfam statistics that now we’ve got 80, the 80 richest people in the world, having more wealth that the bottom three-point-five billion, and very soon we’ll get a situation where that one percent, one percent of the richest people have more wealth than everybody else, the 99."

then post the link and maybe a mod can address that, either move this thread of delete it.
Listen mick, I didnt start the thread asking why there were 13 threads of yours, did I, nor would have I said anything until I saw it...... so why go after me, go to that thread and defend yourself... I just contributed, saying that due to low traffic, we should be more organized like Patcolo, pointing to a big plus if we were a little more conscious.
also, we cannot be fully aware of what others posted at all times. what I am saying above is for one's own threads only, self-organization. Double threads will always happen.

Isn't it funny mick, this coming from the same person that wants to shut down threads when things don't go her way only to start another days later on almost exactly the same topic and also refuses to post the incessant ballony about aliens/Egypt in the same thread.
Hypocrite doesn't even begin to describe her.
This thread should be closed. Mick is right, its a repost...
SO CLOSE IT!

aeon, you have a beef with me and that is ok... but re-read what I am saying.
double threads are unavoidable... there also are rules here that we cannot close threads as we wish, what precisely learned with the pyramid thread...
but I dont mind doing it as soon as mick paste the link of his similar thread into this one - or from there maybe a mod can delete mine or his ???...
well, the thread you are referring to had 60pages plus... and in my view everything had been said. Plus neuro reopened it and guess what I stopped posting... same results.
calling me an hypocrite is absolutely baseless in this particular case.

Most times when the op of a thread that is several pages if not more hidden due to page slide, sees a another post on the same subject will complain like mick did. Some threads can be weeks or months old, so far back that if a search is not worded right it will not be found.
I remember micks thread, but it has been awhile since it was posted.
Most times the one that originally posted will find their thread and bump up back up to the current page so it is refreshed.
Then the two threads depending on the kindness of a mod can be merged together, if different enough.
Just dos Pesos of thought.
Edit:
The search function here does really suck big ones and hit and miss if the search terms are not worded right.

no system is perfect, everything has pros and cons... but for example, I think this forum really deserves to have 2 or 3 majors cops related threads.
edit: by saying "why waste all this space", there is 95% chance that Mick alludes the the thread mentioned in my posting#3. My response to him isnt far fetched.
what I generally do, when someone posts a similar thread to mine, I provide the link for the readers in the duplicate thread, especially if there are some good feedback in it.

The Lord Of The Manor (me) never saw the original posting so that he thanks singular me for his post.........now then, who says that you have to be "super rich" to scape?....all that you need is some brain......and who are we to say anything if the super rich are making preparations to scape......you and I are putting away food, guns and band aids for what it to come.....the super rich only thinks bigger, that's all.

Do they think they can escape the fury of the populace in New Zealand?... No probably the purpose isn't that in the wakes of a financial collapse escape the fury to a calm New Zealand. No the purpose is to escape the nuclear fall out in the Northern hemisphere, afaik there is no nukes targeting the Southern Hemisphere of earth.
As far as the thread being double, this is a very common occurrence. It really isn't the end of the world, but in my case I missed Micks thread, so I think it was a good thing. None of us is perfect. But for a thread starter to stop an ongoing discussion after 600 or so posts have been made, because the discussion doesn't agree with their initial purpose of the thread is wrong IMO, and is a form of censorship.
I am not going to stop this thread, nor fuse it with the thread Mick started, because most of the discussion here is not related to the thread topic, but still interesting...

Are you less of a man if you screwed a girl who has been screwed 217 times before?......well, it did happen to me and was her first real boy friend for four years...........posting a second time only shows that many missed it the first time......no biggie.

sure, I could see the censorship effect, but then I stopped contributing and will keep this as a policy of mine :)

Really that is your choice, totally up to you and anyone else to do so too, and that in itself could very well stop a thread continuing in a direction not to your liking...
