About three months ago I ordered two roll of white LED's from China, each about 20 feet long, just today I remembered that I already had them....I didn't know how much power I needed for them, soooooooo I got my small converter that went from 1.5 v all the way to 12 v DC...I started at five, then seven, and nine was the right amount........WOWWWWWWWWWW they are bright.......next I found a small permanent 9v 3 amp converter that you plug into my 110v converter from my solar panel (batteries) so that now in the future if the power goes out I will have plenty or light........let's see, 3 12 v 3 W light bulbs, my two rolls of LED's, seven solar panels on the roof and six more in the garage, four 12 v deep charge batteries......with this I can power all that plus my lap top and my outside cameras and monitor next to me...... and 8 generators, three for myself (maybe four) and the rest for trading......... and
My 18 V water wheel that works from a water pipe with gravity from the creek, 35 lbs water pressure........I still don't know how I will use this one since I didn't connected to anything.......I just attached a volt meter to find out what I had.
Alarms can work with batteries, "Driveway Alert" eight of them.....right now they are working with regular power..... I have to so something with the big 100W emergency lights outside, about six of them.
The rest of the "alarms" will work with step on, push-bull, plain pull........or UPSSSSSSSSSS. And of course, FAT ASS.
I suggest that you get yourself some rolls of LED's......about $12 each roll.

Just don't try wiping with them.
LEDs are amazing. I have been replacing my CFLs with them when I find them at a decent price. They seem to hold up in my work lights too.

I agree. My entire bugout house is lit up with them, powered by a small 7Ah 12 v motorcycle battery, charged by a solar panel aprox. 12x18". The entire system including cables, switches, led strips and a really fancy ottoman style lamp costed me no more than $300. I suppose the motor cycle battery needs to be changed every 2-5 years ($15-20). So virtually free lighting.

I am planning of going grid power free........but, how will I heat up my hot tub? and make it work?.....two freezer I can get rid of, and I have a very small frig that I can use, don't use my electric water heater...but...then I have my outside 100w lights.
Move out of here? why?, people pay a lot of money just to come here on vacation and I already live here......permanent vacation LOL.
So, the problem is the hut tub and outside lights...........any ideas?

Not sure abt the lights. Good battery bank, 12v high wattage lights controlled by security system motion detector that are powered by 12v. Lights stay off unless motion is detected, saves power because not on all the time.
The hot tub is easy, go redneck style!

Well Pluto, as you know hot water arises .......so what I was thinking about was this....one pipe from the bottom out, one pipe from the top out, those two would to the center where I would have a square metal container that I could heat up with wood......as the water in the container would heat up it would go back into the hut tube by way of the top tube and fresh cool water would go into the metal container by way of the bottom pipe.....it would be circulation for heat......but I would not have the pressure movements of the jets.

Yep, that principle has been used for thousands of years. Hot water rising and cold/cooler water sinking because it is heaver and piping.
Let gravity do all the work, and no pump needed.
Sorta like this , but sub the panel for/with a fire box with coils.

Indeed we should, but the sea is so unresistable, our crappy boats sink so easily under its heavy load. We should but we can't... Fortunately the sacrifice to Neptune seems to save our lives, and you can't eat gold...

Speaking of Ponce toys ! ;)
Ponce was complaining this summer about not getting much rain and his water allowances being cut off. I have just finished checking the west coast weather to see where the rain fall will be for the current storm.
Looked at Ponces area and not bad at all, looks like he just got close to 4 inches in the last 24 hours, so his creek should be roaring..
I am wondering if he would appreciate a toy that can double as a emergency flotation device.

He might have room next to his front yard sign to keep it handy...

Not one molecule of snow this year anywhere, this means that this summer there will be another water war.....will be living in very interesting times. Raining for the past two days and more rains for the next six days.

Understand but winter is not over ....Yet!
The bitch is the rain you are getting is just running and babbling its merry way to the ocean. To bad you can not find a way to store more of it outside of having to use steel/plastic tanks.
