ALERT: STAY AWAY from The Pirate Bay website as we have gotten reports that it has been seized indirectly by the FBI and is logging IPs.

I think PB has been compromised for a long time. I don't really trust those sites and to me it's not really worth the hassle. Of course you need to go to a web site to get a torrent link but if you are using a P2P app and it is reporting your real IP address then you need a kick in the ass. It would be as stupid as stealing someone's Ipad and taking selfies with it. Selfies are stupid anyway but that is just DoublePlusStupid.

If you live in the United States, and you get torrents that you download, and use to join swarms of people sharing files on the internet, you don't have to worry about the FBI getting your IP Address. There are several companies in Germany who 'seed' torrent files, but not for purposes of sharing them, rather for the purpose of entrapment of the people in the swarms. These German torrent entrapment operations work in concert with a firm in the Philippines called APM/C for Anti-Pirate Management Company. What they do is sell their services to the owners of motion picture copyrights who are willing to sue users of bit torrent clients who violate their copyrights. APMC manages the lawsuits, providing a small army of copyright troll lawyers with evidence and case management services. There has been a lot of news about the troll lawyers suing whole swarms of bit-torrent users --like up to 25,000 Does in a swarm. What they do is send a demand letter informing the downloader that they have evidence that his IP address downloaded a particular movie that is copyright protected and unless they pay X dollars as a settlement for this violation, they will be named defendants in a copyright lawsuit in Federal court. The trolls demand $2,000 or more from the bit-torrent users for one movie. Most people discover that it would cost them right around that amount of money to hire a lawyer to defend themselves, so they pay the troll demanding the money to leave them alone without hiring a lawyer to defend themselves. Lately some trolls are sending the bit torrent users lists of files they downloaded threatening to use the lists as evidence in their lawsuits. Some hard-core bit torrent users have been presented with such lists that include hundreds if not thousands of downloaded movies. This puts extra pressure on people who would consider hiring a lawyer to defend themselves. The trolls are generating large revenue streams from these lawsuits. In the last three years more than 250,000 people have been 'trolled' and settled to the tune of several billion dollars. The trolls regard this as 'pennies from heaven'. The APMC in the Phillipines could be considered as engaging in 'champerty'--which is a misuse of the court system, by entering into arrangements where they enrich themselves by taking a cut of the proceeds of the lawsuits. The courts can legitimately be used by people seeking to recover damages in wrongful actions against them. APMC concentrates its litigation 'services' in the United States because the 'pirates there have money that can be 'attorned' and because the court system allows generous damages (plus attorney fees) to be awarded to the plaintiffs.
If you want to get an idea of what you are up against if you use bit-torrent, take a look at this presentation of APMC's business model:

Be patient--it takes a minute or so to load up. It might be valuable information--because if you get sued by a troll, it will either cost you a few thousand bucks to settle, or many more thousands to fight the troll and his client--which will put you in a state of limbo where your assets might be taken away from you up to $150,000 per movie that you download. Federal judges are not savvy about internet technology and can be persuaded to grant excessive judgments to the trolls and their clients. Litigation could take a year or more, and it won't be a lot of fun.
If you insist on using bit-torrent, buy a little insurance and subscribe to a VPN service. You can watch most of the movies you can download on streaming websites without downloading them or using bit-torrent at all. They say there is 'more than one way to skin a cat'. It seems that the one way that everybody knows is using bit-torrent. Look around--you'll find other ways to get what you want without tempting fate.

Amazing that people will work so hard and risk so much just to watch mind control propaganda, i.e. something that should be avoided, not embraced!
It's sort of akin to shoplifting a bottle of Drano to add to your breakfast cereal... lol.
