Cab driver the other day's name was Mohammed, to which he proudly added, 'Ali'. Serious? Serious. He looks to be around 50, IE born in 1964-ish. We reminisced a bit over Ali's heyday. Later on I was home and thinking about this; and I started surfing YT clips of Ali. I quite enjoyed this, from Christmas Day 1978:

Nice Episode of the "This is your Life" Series with Muhammad Ali. Ali's parents and Joe Frazier are also involved, just like singer Tom Jones and Joe Louis.

There's also this, 1986? Frasier (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Frazier#Foreman_again)had retired 10 years earlier. VG:

Very impressive as to the humility they have on display along with the mutual respect for each other.

Yeah, I've seen it before. I don't think that would be aired in this day-and-age.

I can think of a bunch of b/w Tarzan movies that would cause riots today!

Re the '74 Rumble in the Jungle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rumble_in_the_Jungle), Ali vs Foreman in Zaire (now Congo); full fight is all over youtube, but this alt-analysis is interesting. Says the Rope-A-Dope was but a small part of why Ali won (considered an upset),

and for some conspiratorial perspective on Ali's Parkinsons... he was essentially a JFK RFK MLK JLennon MalcolmX etc "cultural threat' to djooz.gov. And, the audacity of the man, converting to Scary Moozlemistism like that!

this part of that interview has seen far less circulation... prolly coz it's more focused on why he converted to Scary Moozlemistism! VG:

On refusing the army/Vietnam, & Scary Moozlemistisism. I mainly wish he would've named djoo, rather than Whites this & Whites that... but then again, he's 20-30-something at that time; and I didn't 'put on the sunglasses' until my 40s... prolly attributable to my "superior background & edumukation" (read: blinders & indoctrination) vs Ali's:

In Tapes, Nixon Rails About Jews and Blacks (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/11/us/politics/11nixon.html)

The whole article’s good but notice the last 2 paragraphs,

Nixon also strongly hinted that his reluctance to even consider amnesty for young Americans who went to Canada to avoid being drafted during the Vietnam War was because, he told Mr. Colson, so many of them were Jewish.

“I didn’t notice many Jewish names coming back from Vietnam on any of those lists; I don’t know how the hell they avoid it,” he said, adding: “If you look at the Canadian-Swedish contingent, they were very disproportionately Jewish. The deserters.”

This was also the 60's & early 70s; the joosh grip was much less thorough & conspicuous then... & not really sure where the cultural norms were then about speaking openly about djoo question. Hell, the norms even now are schizo. Who are you asking? Honest Abe F? A Christian-zio congregation? A GSUS poster? Which one? Spectrism? Or, you're with a gathering of "Truthers". Are they of the AJ/gatekept variety? Who's the "leader"? And who are the "change agents" in the group Delphi-ing (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?59960-Defeating-Delphi-technique-at-(fake)-quot-public-input-quot-mtgs) for a joo-friendly LIHOPey stance on 911, and seeking to "shame" & "marginalize" anyone who pipes up about djooz?

Found this clip; @ 4:05 Archie asks Davis why he became a joo. But rather than answer, the subject changes. :( Later the subject of Blacks & Whites huggin' & kissin' on TV comes up, and Sammy says how "Whites" put a kissing clause in his contract, coz "Whites" want to be part of Black culture now coz that's hip. Then he's on about the "Whites" who did the slave trade, haha! (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?54017-quot-Amistad-quot-Spielberg-s-Inspirational-amp-Compassionate-Movie-about-American-Slavery) :D

Funny clip though, cute ending:

Still on my Ali kick, :D

He did, I believe, 3 interviews with this UK dood, something-PARKINSON; which is a cruel coincidence that that's also the disease which Ali is said to have (again, CT perspective is it's not actually Parkinson's but rather poisoning; and I don't know enough about that thyroid drug (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgNixIy7OGA) Ali was taking, apparently like candy, nor it's effects?).

Anyways, the interviews were '71, '74, and '81; the latter two below. The '71 interview is the one with a couple clips above where Ali's giving his birds-of-a-feather spiel on race.

The '74 interview is around a month following his Rumble in the Jungle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rumble_in_the_Jungle) upset victory over Foreman. It's also a few days after the end of the Attica Prison Riot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attica_prison_riot). It's disturbing to watch, as Ali spends most of it getting upset with Parkinson, first over P's writing articles critical of White UK fighter Joe Bugner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Bugner), with Ali telling P off for that. Then Ali gets madder when he perceives P trying to play 'gotcha!' over apparent contradictions between the teachings of Elijah Muhammad (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elijah_Muhammad) who Ali claims to be a full disciple of, and Ali's own life/style. I thought P's question was fine and deserved a thoughtful answer, but Ali gets angry and goes on a long, accusatory diatribe. :( Painful viewing!

With that ^ in mind, FF to '78, the "This Is Your Life" episode ~4 years later. Consider Ali's mental coherence, personality, physical wellness etc. A little more mature and subdued, but IMHO still has it together... also considering the "surprise!" circumstance he was thrust into there.

FF again to the following '81 interview, again with Parkinson. I don't have the exact date of this interview, but it's the year following Ali's pathetic Oct '80 loss to Larry Holmes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Holmes). If Ali wasn't literally drunk for this one, he may as well have been! Slurred speech, foggy brained; he tries to tell his charming old jokes (The Mummy...) and poems to Parkinson, which Ali apparently forgot that he'd already told in their past interview(s). P starts off with asking about Ali's health, brain damage, and how concerned people are about him... and Ali comes across as oblivious that anything's happened to him! :( Complete denial, at best. Again, painful viewing (just for different reasons than the '74 one), thankfully it's short.

So, whether Ali was 'poisoned by TPTB', or destroyed by thyroid meds, or has Parkinson's as the official story purports; we can see that his major demise took place between '78 (TIYL show), and '81... apparently in motion when he was decimated by Holmes. He doesn't have the violent tremor in this interview, yet, but that would develop in the following years.

In fact, Ali was plainly already gone by his Oct '80 Holmes fight-- appears drunk and/or retarded, even when they brought him out at the opening, he needed to be guided and directed like a wandering child. WRT "Parkinson's", remember, Ali is only 38yo here (thus I vote 'poisoned'; though the thyroid drug thing is an open question?):

Parkinson, Michael. Renowned as the best interviewer of all time........ in the World.

Like how the baseball has a world series that only involves teams from the USA and not the world. That kind of best of all time. But yes he did some great interviews. Used to be on Saturday night. Great to rug up in winter. Watch some classic BBC comedy and chat programs.

But Ali was pretty smart for the time.

interesting (to me) that Parkies school yard chum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Parkinson) and fellow childhood cricketer was none other than Dickie Bird. Renowned as the best Cricket Umpire of all time...... in the world.
