Here is a home for EVERYTHING that supposedly falls into the category esoteric.

What does esoteric mean? Well lets get a solid definition...

Esotericism (or esoterism) signifies the holding of esoteric opinions or beliefs,[1] that is, ideas preserved or understood by a small group of those specially initiated, or of rare or unusual interest.[2] The term derives from the Greek, either from the comparative ἐσώτερος (esôteros), "inner", or from its derived adjective ἐσωτερικός (esôterikos), "pertaining to the innermost".[3]

The term can also refer to the academic study of esoteric religious movements and philosophies, or to the study of those religious movements and philosophies whose proponents distinguish their beliefs, practices, and experiences from mainstream exoteric and more dogmatic institutionalized traditions.[4]

Examples of esoteric religious movements and philosophies include Alchemy, Anthroposophy, Astrology, early Christian mysticism,[5] The Fourth Way, Tantra, Freemasonry, Gnosticism, Hermetism, Mahavidya, Vamachara, Kabbalah, Magic, Mesmerism, Neoplatonism, Numerology, Perennialism, Rosicrucianism, Scientology, Sufism, Swedenborgianism, Spiritualism, Taoism, the Alawites,[6] the Theosophy of Jacob Böhme and his followers, and the Theosophist movement associated with Helena Blavatsky.

Why this thread?

Because a certain bunch of posters feel that its within the forum rules to keep posting the same assertions again and again, often starting new threads when they should really just be placed in the ONE thread that encompass similar material within this definition.

What sort of material fits in this thread?

Numerology
Astrology
Atlantis, the belief in Atlantians or other advanced ancient civilizations
'Mysteries' of the Egyptian pyramids
Mystical harmonic theories
'Sacred' geometry and claims that phi and other number sequences are somehow mystical
The 'occult'
The supernatural; including telekinesis, divination and psychokinesis.
Ley lines

This way, the forum doesn't turn into a spamming fest, which is against the rules and the reason HT got banned.

No need to thank me, you've all been begging for me to start a thread around this 'subject', so have at it! :D

OK, so I'll make a start.

Some claim that Fibonacci ascertained the structure of the universe before the telescope. This would be impossible unless he had some kind of mystical 'esoteric' experience and dutifully transcribed in detail his assertions about the universe replete with diagrams and explanations.

Its my assertion that Fibonacci had no such experience, he never left any material which conclusively proves the aforementioned assertions.

For those that make this claim or believe it to be so please feel free to provide some substantiating evidence.

the real issue is to accept that what we dont know, reject/trash always comes back with a vengeance. Its a Natural Law, because "unlimited awareness" (that comes along with"self-responsibility") is God/Universe's gift to Man who is a micro version of the macro.

we are in this mess because of it. Knowledge is Knowledge. What gets ostracized depends on the cultural elites making up norms to protect themselves and their dogmas. But everything is interconnected.

I would surely put in this thread "alchemy of money", a subverted knowledge to profit from usury and enslave the planet and which has hijacked just everything. So if everything depends on an esoteric deception (which some call satanic/pure evil) , all topics fall in the esoteric category.

the current definition of esotericism is too subverted. Just like anarchy, capitalism, freedom vs enslavement, etc.

ancient knowledge is catching up with us: even astrophysicists call Phi, the golden Ratio, observed in stars, an irrational number... eventually, they will have to capitulate.

OK, then what do you currently define as esoteric?

Also where is the proof that Fibonacci deduced the structure of the universe without that use of telescopes.

Perhaps he had bifocals?
