Everyone’s favorite three-term New York City Mayor is at it again folks. The billionaire liberal mayor who brought such amazing and helpful nanny initiatives like taking away large sodas is now setting his sight on gun control, especially guns and minorities (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2015/02/15/bloomberg-to-aspen-institute-dont-distribute-the-footage-where-i-said-lets-take-guns-away-from-minorities-n1957813).
Of course, it’s not surprising that Bloomberg is a big gun control guy, after all, this is one of the things which have characterized his terms as mayor quite well. He has done everything possible to take guns out of the hands of law abiding New York City citizens and is engaged in a pitched battle against the Second Amendment.
Bloomberg Puts Foot in Mouth
Last week, the good liberal mayor made an appearance at the Aspen Institute. Some of his comments were pointed at minorities and gun control. It would seem that now the mayor has asked them not to distribute footage from the event, and both the Institute and Grassroots TV (which was also there and recorded the event) are going to honor this request. They are both good liberal organizations themselves and would rather not have one of their champions look like an ass over silly comments he made.
Of course, the wonderful mayor didn’t state a specific reason he preferred the video to not be used. The Aspen Institute was also very gracious, responding that they often feature speakers who do not want their presentations to be videotaped. Of course, this wasn’t the situation here…Bloomberg had no problem with the initial videotaping. His problem was that after he opened his big mouth and had a second or two to think, he realized just how ignorant his statements sounded…and didn’t want this getting out.
Bloomberg: Take Guns Away From Minorities
According to Bloomberg, in order to save lives, we need to take firearms away from minorities. That is certainly an interesting perspective, coming from someone who seems to have no gumption about taking firearms away from everyone…except criminals. Here is more from the Aspen Times:
“Three-term New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg harped on the importance of vocational education and blasted Colorado’s decision to legalize marijuana as stupid Friday evening before a sold out crowd at the Aspen Institute…
Moderator Jennifer Bradley, director of the Center for Urban Innovation at the Institute, then asked what the US can do to get people out of poverty. Bloomberg responded that conventional wisdom points to education, but education isn’t going to help uneducated adults. Bradley later asked how government can offer basic fairness to the children ‘who have been failed.’
Bloomberg claimed that 95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority, and between the ages of 15 and 25. Cities need to get guns out of this group’s hands and keep them alive, he said. ‘These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,’ Bloomberg said.”

We already know these views are clearly NOT in tune with the will of the American people (http://downtrend.com/jrc410/another-challenge-to-weak-vague-gun-control-legislation-in-washington-state), who are wholeheartedly against any more gun control measures.
Once again, the gun control community pushes data that is just simply false. According to 2013 data, murder offenders are distributed fairly evenly among white and black Americans, 31.1 percent to 38.0 percent. But we would expect nothing less from Bloomberg, our gun control hero. Maybe he has been listening to Obama too long? What do YOU think?
