I think our tsunami doom is worse here on the west coast. We have Hawaii, cracking in half. The Hilina slump, could cause a wave 1600 feet high.

Ah little hopper !
There is an island that if the side of the volcano that is in the canary islands that is slumping ever turns loose, the east coasts of all the Americas would be toast.

Hawaii does have the potential also, coin toss which one may be worse.

I guess it doesn't matter. A tsunami, for me at least, is just a game over. I remember one warning, the sirens went off, my buddy and I were lounging on deck maybe 3-4 beers into the evening. The crazy frenchman ran by yelling tsunami, get the hell out of here. My buddy and I looked at each other, and cracked another beer.
We calculated it later, that the tsunami if there was one, would have gotten there before the siren warning. They travel fast. After that, I don't even worry about it, because there's nothing I can do anyway.

Maybe not so, the pacific does seem to have a good warning net system of buoys.
Tho if wanted you could always play the sinking submarine game.
Lady's love it in one of its forms.
Go down 5 times , but only come up 4. :)
Nice way to check out !

Was his boat moored in the middle of the harbour?

They travel fast.
Deep water a tsunami is a wave that might travel at 300-400 mph and is so small you wouldn't notice it. That little wave starts to draw water out of shallow water for 10-15 minutes before it all comes rushing back in. That 10-15 minutes is going to be the only warning you get. Chances are if moored you aren't going to get clear of the incoming wave.

Yup, you know. Also that tsunami traveling that fast, isn't even a wave. It's just energy blasting through the water. Nothing to stop it. It only becomes a wave when that energy draws out the shallow water.
I figure I'll see the boat on the bottom first. Then hang on. If it's my time to end, pray.

If so it would be the perfect time to light that joint you really want to try because piss test's would not matter any more for you!
If you have it play the song by country joe and the fish "Don't Bogart that joint my friend" and then play it loud as you can !
Light up and enjoy it!
