Anyway, that is screwed up about the citizenship thing, honest but sounds overboard to the extreme. So if no laws of the country are broken, it is hands off.

But it does seem to play into your ancient history and the viking and berserker culture when they went out on raids. That I would bet still has a warm place in the heart of the proud history of that era in modern day Scandinavians !

This guy was born in Sweden by Muslim parents, in his early 20's, been fighting in Syria for 2 years. My thinking is if you are going off to fight for Islamic State, you have actively chosen to be against Sweden and everything it stands for, and thus you gave a pass on your citizenship, going back for medical treatment of your warwounds and recoup on our taxpayers expense shouldn't be an option any longer. Second is the security aspect, if he is willing to go and do the Jihad in Syria for sharia law and kill any who is against his particular version of Islam, there is no guarantee he would choose to do the same in Sweden.

I do think the same as you, if someone goes to fight or supports a cause that kills their own people, or allies. They should lose all rights and citizenship, and ether be jailed or banished from his x country!

Don't worry about it, it is an acquired taste, mostly acquired through starvation. Sweden was during the middle 19th century considered one of the poorest countries of Europe, 1860's was the time when most Swedish emigrants came to USA, people were literally starving to death in Sweden then, people ate everything then, including this particular rotten fish, especially on the North East coast of Sweden at the Baltic sea, where the tradition still lives, but most people who still do it only honors it ones a year in beginning of September, at the Surstrommings premier.
