Investigation Into IRS Scandal Now A “Criminal Investigation”Yet another way under the radar moment that the Mainstream Media is attempting to bury away out of sight and thus hopefully, out of mind of most Americans. Yesterday, Treasury Deputy Inspector General Timothy Camus told Congress his investigation into the IRS scandal indicated potential “criminal activity” which includes, but is not limited to, the now infamous “missing” emails from former IRS employee, Louis Lerner who is alleged to have undertaken using her position to intimidate and harass conservative groups opposed to the Obama administration’s policies.

A Washington Times report said this:

The IRS’s inspector general confirmed Thursday it is conducting a criminal investigation into how Lois Lerner’s emails disappeared, saying it took only two weeks for investigators to find hundreds of tapes the agency’s chief had told Congress were irretrievably destroyed.

Another startling bit of information from Treasury Deputy Inspector General Timothy Camus is that when he contacted IRS employees about locating the missing Lerner emails, those employees indicated they had never been asked to retrieve the emails from anyone inside the IRS before Camus’s request to them to do so.

This directly contradicts the testimony of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen who repeatedly informed Congress he had looked into the missing emails and was told they were irretrievably lost. According to Inspector General Camus, Koskinen never contacted IRS employees about retrieving the missing Lerner emails.

That’s some serious cover-up activity right there, folks.

Democrats are claiming the investigation is political, and that Republicans should stop spending money in an attempt to seek a truth they feel is not there. Republicans in turn vow to continue pushing for answers, feeling the IRS has not only abused its authority, but that a resulting cover-up could implicate the Obama White House itself – a White House that not so long ago made the infamous claim that there was not a “smidgen of corruption” implicating the IRS in a scandal.

Perhaps the term “criminal activity” does not qualify as “smidgen” in the Obama administration? Or the head of IRS for some reason appearing to have repeatedly lied under oath to Congress about attempts to retrieve missing emails?
