The firearms instructor who is coaching me suggested this as a replacement for the Cheapo
Scope on my 5.56 Rifle.

That's a picture of the scope with a red dot laser. I can't find a picture or a listing yet
without the red dot.

Anyway, what do you guys think of this scope (without the red dot) ?

Here's the URL for the scope with the red dot. So what I'm thinking of getting is similar
but not exactly that. Just can't find a picture right now.

Have limited time with red dot sights.

Will say iron sights are forever and do not use batteries.

Tho quick sight picture with dot sights can be nice!

Real glass with reticules no battery's needed scopes are my first choice.

But the military has a reason to use dot sights, if setup right quicker sight picture. IMO!

Just do not care much for needing batteries where iron sights do the job!

IMO !

Sorry if my post was a little confusing.

The scope in the title is a "Real glass with reticules" type scope.

That's the one I'm thinking about buying.

I just couldn't find a picture of just the scope.

The one in the picture has the added feature, complexity, and risk of the laser, battery etc.

My rifle has an iron peep sight, too.

I basically want to learn all of them (cheap scope, iron peep, good optical scope), as money allows.

Doesn't cost me anything to learn the iron peep - though I think I'll have trouble seeing targets very far with it.

Learn your iron sights and the yardage and wind adjustments first, in the long run the knowledge will serve you well!

Scopes are great bar none, but IMO iron sights and use always comes first.
