BREAKING: Feds Announce Massive Takeover of Police in These 6 U.S. Cities

Barack Obama is a huge fan of power. He believes power is a good thing. And there is no such thing as too much of a good thing.
Obama wants the power to effectively repeal deportation laws (http://conservativetribune.com/border-sheriff-reveals-obama-is-intentionally-keeping-sheriffs-from-protecting-citizens-watch/). He wants the power to hire terrorists (http://conservativetribune.com/obama-hires-pro-terrorism/). He wants the power to determine foreign elections (http://conservativetribune.com/netanyahu-destroy-obama-plot/). He wants the power to determine what we teach (http://conservativetribune.com/students-defy-common-core/), what we eat (http://conservativetribune.com/michelle-isnt-stopping-with-kids/) and what bullets we own (http://conservativetribune.com/nra-wins-declares-victory/).

Now, according to al.com, Obama wants to control the local police.

Obama’s Department of Justice announced last week the six cities that will serve as national pilot sites of a $4.7 million National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice. The six cities are Ft. Worth, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Stockton, Birmingham and Gary, Indiana.

Attorney General Eric Holder (http://conservativetribune.com/holder-teamed-with-cia/) described the initiative as a partnership between federal officials and criminal justice experts providing training, policy and research to address distrust between citizens and law enforcement. (H/T Al.com (http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/03/birmingham_1_of_6_pilot_sites.html))

Birmingham officials expressed delight in the takeover. “We are truly honored that DOJ would select Birmingham as one of six national pilot sites,” said Birmingham police Chief A.C. Roper.

“We’re all aware of the modern day issues and national discussion on policing (http://conservativetribune.com/holder-lawsuit-ferguson-police/) in America,” declared an observant Roper.

Roper feels Birmingham needs help from the federal government to gain trust from its citizens, “Although we’ve worked extremely hard building bridges in our communities we saw this initiative as an opportunity to strengthen relationships, increase public cooperation, and improve the perception of police legitimacy across our city.”

“We truly recognize that the Birmingham Police Department cannot be successful without community support and community trust. This three year project will allow us to serve as a national police model and increase our capacity to serve our citizens,” said Roper.

While we can appreciate Roper’s concern about the public image of the police, we are deeply concerned that he believes turning to the federal government of Obama and Holder is a move in the right direction (http://conservativetribune.com/obama-liar-cant-be-trusted/).

Obama Federalizes Police Forces in Six US Cities

March 15, 2015 By Colleen Conley (http://www.tpnn.com/author/colleen-conley/)

In his most recent attempt to centralize the federal government’s grip on America, Obama has launched his “21st Century Policing” pilot program, COPS, in six cities across the country.

“Obamalaw,” is yet another overreach of Constitutional authority to fundamentally transform the nation, this time by taking away local police enforcement rights and putting new rules and regulations in place as dictated by the President and Eric Holder’s Justice Department. Born out of the perception that racism is rampant amongst city law enforcement agencies, this new plan is intended to address the issue by trampling on local rights.

Obama is using the same tactic he has used in nationalizing other sectors; expanding progressive control by attaching more conditions to federal funding of state and local law-enforcement efforts.

“We can expand the COPS program… to see if we can get more incentives for local communities to apply some of the best practices and lessons that are embodied in this report,” he said.

The consequences of implementing these “best practices” will likely lead to rules that restrict police investigations of groups that are part of the Democratic coalition, and rules that try to level convictions and penalties among various sub-groups of the United Stats, regardless of actual conviction rates. Police interactions with blacks, the LGBTQ population, Muslim, Arab, and South Asian communities, and immigrant or non-English speaking groups are included in the report, along with drug addicts.

It also calls for the government to collect more data about state and local policing. That data will help federal officials impose new rules.

“State and local policing may need to be subordinated to federal social policy,” Obama suggested.

The Ferguson DOJ report presented the perfect opportunity to make sure “a serious crisis” did not go to waste. With the trumped up report and media talking points, the Administration has fabricated a weak and false narrative of rampant racism in order to create a premise upon which to insert the camel’s nose under the tent.

The Administration has carefully chosen six “pilot” cities in dire need of cash with mayors and police chiefs willing to sell their city’s local rule in exchange for short-term financial gains. All but one, Fort Worth, are majority Democrat-run cities. All have high black, Latino, or Muslim populations, amongst which an open door policy encouraging claims of discrimination will be greeted with much enthusiasm.

The cities chosen for the COPS pilot program are Minneapolis, Fort Worth, Pittsburgh, Stockton, Birmingham and Gary, IN. As mentioned by Obama’s 21st Century Policing Task Force, the founding premise for this federal takeover is supposedly the rampant racism of the American police, who victimize poor, innocent populations for no other reason than color. Gary is a city with an 83% black population; only ten percent of its citizens are white; the demographics of Gary are just further evidence of the fallacy of this take over. Gary is a crime-riddled, liberal stronghold, eager to prove to the Big Brother Obama that they are in need of federal oversight and a big fat check. Their federal handout amounts to $4.7 million, supposedly to provide training as well as dictate policy and fund the perpetual black hole of research, into the issue of distrust between citizens and law enforcement.

And so, the Administration which was supposedly best equipped to heal race relations, continues to create rancor to divide and conquer Americans.

There it is. See, more blacks will die, unnoticed. Then after a successful run... large scale deaths of all races to follow.

The uncounted: why the US can't keep track of people killed by police

The top crime-data experts in Washington had determined that they could not properly count how many Americans die each year at the hands of police. So they stopped. The move did not make headlines....

For the better part of a decade, a specialized team of statisticians within the US Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) – number-crunchers working several nesting dolls deep inside the Justice Department – had been collecting data on what they called arrest-related deaths. The ARD tally was more than a count of killings by police. It was meant to be the elusive key to a problem that seemed easy to understand but difficult to define. The program set out to track any death, of anyone, that happened in the presence of a local or state law enforcement officer.

A victim like Michael Brown, shot dead in the process of arrest, would make the count. A victim like Akai Gurley, shot dead in Brooklyn not in the process of arrest, would make the count. A victim like Eric Garner, choked and squeezed to death on Staten Island in the process of arrest, would make the count. A victim like Tamir Rice, shot dead in Cleveland at 12 years old with no arrest attempt made at all, would make the count, along with many other victims.
These people would make the US government’s authoritative count of people killed by police. If the count still existed. Which it does not.

I think it was in 2006 I tested for the fire dept in Stockton, one of the cities listed. Out of 1000 people, I ranked #12. They were going to hire 20 at that time. I backed out of the testing process though, for another opportunity. Blessing in disguise, had a gut feeling about that city. When the market crashed in 2008, Stockton got hit hard. They ended up being the biggest city in the US to ever file for bankruptcy, and city workers, especially those retired with pensions and health benefits got hit hard.

The old joke was that Bakersfield was the armpit of California, I believe that title now goes to Stockton.
