We’ll probably kill journalists who don’t report the truth, says Thai leader
Thursday 26th March 2015

Thailand’s junta leader, Prayuth Chan-ocha, has said he will “probably just execute” any journalist who does not “report the truth”.

Last month Gen Prayuth said he had the power to shut down news outlets, and on Wednesday he took an even harsher line. “We’ll probably just execute them,” said Prayuth, without a trace of a smile, when asked by reporters how the government would deal with those who do not adhere to the official line.

“You don’t have to support the government, but you should report the truth,” the former army chief said, telling reporters to write in a way that bolsters national reconciliation in the kingdom.

Prayuth, who is also prime minister, heads the ruling junta, the National Council for Peace and Order. He toppled the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in a coup last May, following months of mass protests aimed at ousting Yingluck.

Known for his abrupt manner and impulsive remarks, Prayuth launched a crackdown on dissenters after seizing power in May. He has said Thailand is not ready to lift martial law, which gives the army sweeping powers, including for arrest and detention. In January, the junta forced a German foundation to cancel a forum on press freedom, saying Thailand was at a sensitive juncture.

Since taking power, the junta has made full use of martial law, which also bans all political gatherings............

He means the truth. Facts. Thais don't mince words. They say what they mean in as few words as possible. Its a very thinly veiled threat.

Thailand has been under unprecedented attack. The place is crawling with operatives. They have had a serious "Color" uprising and we know who backs those. When those things go on, you have material being published that is subversive.

There is something else going on under the radar so to speak. A bit of a battle there. To do with sound money. The King is also fairly aged now and there are a Daughter and Son. A lot of people are worried who will take charge in the future.

The Rats sense the convergence and timing is ripe. The Thai military did the right thing.

I figgered the TH mil would maintain power through the king's death, and for some time after through elections and return to civilian gov. Half the reason for the gov gridlock crisis a year ago was, parties all wanted to be the majority when king dies, and none of them would blink. So instead, mil will be in power.

Tony Cartelucci was writing insightful TH stuff; he's NWO-aware, so it's not the usual JSM drivel. Joogle:

If that happened in the U.S. there wouldn't be left one person in the news media to report on the deaths of the others.

They get cable there so much of the usual culprits,. BBC, CNN, CNBC so on. They also have their local Thai and regional stuff. Malaysia TV is popular. Malaysians are mad for soap operas and sitcom type stuff. Can't understand the language my self but it looks funny enough.

But they have this subversive Regime Change movement, grass roots or astro turf. This is where the anti government material is coming from. But as I said the place is crawling with agents. The Thai leaders know this, but as we know you have to tread softly softly or weird things start happening. Like planes falling from the sky and so on.

It isn't the lying that deceives us so much as the omissions. To me a reporter "who doesn't report the truth" is one who deliberately omits the important details.

The suggested punishment is fitting.

omission is considered lying

Here they always choose the cheaper of the globals as a major, it used to be fox until they got too edgy
and raised their fees they moved them up to a higher pay grade package. yeah I guess global lies dont really apply to his scope.

I was in TH at the time of the coup, and nearly all the tv stations, Thai & intl/cable, were turned off, with a static pic of the 5 mil services' insignias & music, for about 4 days after which nearly all were returned... except, notably, CNN.

CIA News Network (CNN) did some squalking about censorship, oh the evil undemocratic coupsters... and frankly I didn't follow how/when it resolved, IF it ever did? Be easy to search up if you're curious.

The handful of times I perused a 2nd hand Bangkok Post in restaurants, the intl coverage seemed pretty ziowned.
