Apart from the label on the bottle, how would he know if he got monoatomic gold? As far as I understand it there is no method that can detect it, if it even exists...

Neuro, I stated clearly in another posting that I read many pros and cons about it, so I am neutral on this. But if TRUE, one has to experience valuable health improvement. Hence my question and will listen to the input of those who take/took it.
many, mainly the mainstream type, also think that colloidal silver is a joke.

interesting thread on monoatomic gold
https://gold-forum.kitco.com/showthread.php?71337-White-Powder-Monoatomic-Gold
I believe alchemy was onto something and that is why it was banned by religion/state centuries ago... book burning/witch hunting should **always** look suspicious. Since then alchemist theories have been infiltrated with disinfo that only a long term search can sort out. I havent much looked into it, but probably some day, which mean that I am not ready for a marathon.

Colloidal silver can be easily detected, extensive research has shown it to be a powerful anti-bacterial. The majority of people buying 'mono-atomic' gold would do it because they have faith in it. If you have faith in something you can expect a placebo-effect, in other words you feel better because you think you should. So those who payed a lot of money for their 'mono-atomic' gold is not a reliable source of information.
If you really want to find out if 'mono-atomic' gold is of any benefit, give it to a bunch of rats, compare it to a bunch of rats you treat the same way apart from the 'mono-atomic' part, and measure the difference in diseases, mortality, labyrinth tests, etc. Alternatively if you believe it has only effect in humans and not other mammals, Give one group what is claimed to be mono-atomic gold, the other a placebo, like a mud-solution (which I suspect is what mono-atomic gold is), blinded to the participants in the trial and compare the outcomes in blood pressure/values, IQ-tests, wellbeing questionnaires, long term mortality and morbidity. The fact that the sellers hasn't done this type of research gives you a hint how much they believe in their product.
BTW I didn't read your post where you stated that clearly, so how could I have known?

Yes or most likely it is unreal...
From post #39 in the Kitco Forum thread you posted above:
t out of the water, in regards to his "insistence" that mono level particles occur, and are exceedingly difficult to re-constitute into a metallic form is this:
This process of gathering individual atoms onto a surface and depositing into a singular gathering is called METAL PLATING. Electrical current flowing through an electrolytic solution actually grabs individual atoms of gold and deposits them onto an anode. Been done for 100s of years before this quack farmer came along and wanted to get popular........
IOW if mono-atomic gold existed in the solution, you could use it to electroplate metals with it. You can't, and it doesn't... No doubt it won't stop fools and their money from parting.

Exactly , been working my guts out so to speak but loving it, got these two wekas (above image from web) which because I started feeding them , when I dont they start making this annoying sound, kinda hilarious really.
One has its foot missing from a possum trap ,(hoppy) but has got over it basically and has a male partner, there is a third one I call bandit which comes in to the territory sometimes and is chased off at a fast rate ( also hilarious at times)
we live up the hill and have an amazing view of the bay, best bay in the whole area and there is plenty of room to walk around , not a lot of level areas but its amazing how fit you get
at the moment there are deer roaring day and night and it seems we have more wildlife in our valley than any other in the area
pigs rooting evidence everywhere, goats and possums plus friggin rats
many sheep farmers but nearly as many marijuana growers as farmers now days

Abstract (book summary)
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0892687513002185
Based on publicly available information and the author’s experience, there is reason to suspect that high levels of precious metals may be extracted economically from non-assayable materials. Such proprietary recovery methods have been demonstrated only at laboratory or pilot scale, so that the credibility associated with large scale production is still lacking. Precious metals not detected by spectroscopy and standard assay techniques are usually assumed not to exist, and hence present a technical and credibility challenge to metallurgists interested in these ‘abnormal’ ores. It is unlikely that this demanding field of metallurgy will be addressed by academic researchers or large companies, despite the substantial opportunity that it offers for breakthrough discovery. This paper reviews some of the pseudo-science surrounding this field, including: (a) the role of ‘intermolecular water’ in forming complex salts locking up precious metals, but which also presents a basis for extraction of precious metals from non-assayable ores; (b) accounts of ambient transmutation of elements, mainly using thermal methods; (c) Orbitally Rearranged Monoatomic Elements (ORMEs) which are virtually undetectable by conventional means and their conversion to normal metals; (d) the ‘high spin’ state of transition metals; and (e) the formation of microclusters altering the chemical behaviour of precious metals. It is hypothesised here that precious metals occur in nature across a spectrum of degrees of clustering, ranging from ‘normal’ gold amenable to conventional extraction methods, to the ORME state.
--------------------
Scientific Literature
The concept of Monoatomic Elements, particularly those referred to as the ORME, have a well-established scientific rationale. Included below for convenient reference are some of the many papers which deal with the subject, including quotes, additional comments and information not readily incorporated within other narratives.
MICROCLUSTERS [Michael A. Duncan and Dennis H. Rouvray, Scientific American, December 1989, pages 110-115]:

-----------------------------------
Monatomic Elements (ORMES)
What is the White Powder?
The white powder is comprised of a group of elements in a monatomic state. Hudson calls them "ORMES" for "Orbitally Rearranged Monatomic Elements." This is a new form (phase) of matter with entirely different physical properties from normal elements. Conventional chemistry texts have been of little value in explaining ORMEs. Several scientists have started studies of such matter although, to the author's knowledge, none has yet developed a satisfactory theory explaining the phenomena. To date, Hudson's discoveries have neither been conclusively confirmed nor rebutted by independent investigators.
ORMEs are naturally occurring in certain volcanic soils dating back to a geological event which occurred about 60 million years ago. Such soils are present throughout the western United States. Soils which are considered rich in these elements might contain up to six percent of this material. The remaining 94 percent or more of the material is ordinary dirt comprised mainly of silicon compounds. Initial processing consists of removing the dirt to get the residue. The residue comprises ORMEs or the white powder. ..............

Probably! I travelled the world mostly overland between 91-95 on a shoestring budget, going through Eastern Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Far East and a short time in Australia. Many were doing what I was doing at the time, and I doubt many in 60's and 70's were able to do something like this... Those hippy places I went to are now all-inclusive resorts. Good times!
