when we see how far big pharma and bioengineering have gone to make us sick, experiments on animals mirror our lack of interest in their welfare.

What we do to nature reflects on what people do to each others obviously, when human rights are sound, they have positive consequences on nature. And this BS ruling wouldnt happen.

In Historic Ruling, Pair of Chimpanzees Recognized as 'Legal Persons'

‘For the first time in U.S. history, a judge has effectively recognized two chimpanzees as legal persons, in an order Monday which will allow a pair of research primates—Hercules and Leo—to seek relief from unlawful imprisonment.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe on Monday granted the chimps a writ of habeas corpus that will require Stony Brook University, where they are being kept for biomedical experiments, to appear in court and explain why the school has “unlawfully detained” Leo and Hercules. That hearing is set for May 6.’

Well now... in the interest of equality that judge needs to be removed and replaced with one of the chimps. Ahh... she saw me coming. Hold the horses.

Judge reverses ‘human rights’ status for chimpanzees (http://nypost.com/2015/04/21/judge-reverses-human-rights-status-for-chimpanzees/) By Julia Marsh (http://nypost.com/author/julia-marsh/) and Bruce Golding (http://nypost.com/author/bruce-golding/)

The hopes and dreams of millions of chimps were dashed in an instant Tuesday when a judge affirmed that an animal-rights group had gone too far by saying she’d granted them “human rights.”
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe acknowledged that she inadvertently got turned into a monkey’s uncle by signing court papers, submitted by the animal-rights activists, that inadvertently bestowed human status on two chimpanzees being used for biomedical research at Stony Brook University on Long Island.
Proving the movie maxim uttered by Charlton Heston that “some apes, it seems, are more equal than others,” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063442/quotes) Jaffe on Monday signed a writ of habeas corpus on behalf of the primates, named Hercules and Leo.
The judicial command, Latin for “have the body,” is used to determine the legality of a prisoner’s confinement — raising the specter of Cornelius and Zira’s appearance before a Presidential Commission in 1971’s “Escape from the Planet of the Apes.”
But Jaffe got madder than a gorilla handling an American Tourister suitcase (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C-e96m4730) when the Nonhuman Rights Project — which wants Hercules and Leo sent to a South Florida sanctuary — claimed that she had “implicitly determined that Hercules and Leo are ‘persons.'”
Jaffe issued an amended order Tuesday that crossed out the words “Writ of Habeas Corpus.”

She also had her principal court attorney send out an email blasting the activists’ “inaccurate press release” and insisting that her order merely scheduled a May 6 hearing in the case.
In a subsequent “clarifying statement,” the Nonhuman Rights Project said that “the court believes at minimum that the chimpanzees could be possibly legal persons…without deciding that they are.”

I have yet to see animal activists portraying societies as free range cattle successfully to any judge

It would be Racist™ not to come to this ruling.
