I've only taken one police exam and passed it, ranked high enough to continue on with the testing process. It was more of an aptitude test and I thought pretty easy. The hard part of the testing process was all the psych testing, 1000 plus questions. That test actually made candidates cry, it discovers weaknesses and any psych issues. It was very thorough and complete. The lie detector test and IQ test were challenging as well.

That link didn't work for me, btw. I got the first question correct, but then a blank screen after that. I'd figure how smart folks are on this forum that nobody would have any issues passing a police written exam.

I would fail the exam do to the fact I couldn't help from ignoring the answers offered and making up my own based on what I have observed regarding the conduct of police officers.

Brew, I'd wager you on this. I bet you would pass that test with flying colors, furthermore, wager you'd make a great cop. A part of that wager would be that you pick the right department to test with.

I appreciate the kind words, but there's no way in hell I would ever be a cop in this or any other lifetime.

I wouldn't wish the job on my worst best friend, if that makes any sense. But, being an idealist, there's hope good people will take over the profession and restore some sort of peace and justice.

Time will tell, but the trend if for the worst unfortunately.

Basically, when the right people for the job would never do it, it's fucked.

My brother and I, and my wife were sitting on a outdoor deli patio waiting for our order when I found this thread. I started quizzing him. We were on the second question when six Riverside PD employees sat at the next table. There were four other tables to sit at, away from us. WTF? We continued on after my brother put his dog in the car after I asked if his Lab could take a 9mm round. We were laughing our asses off; then Mom showed up ( we had pre ordered for her). She asked what we were laughing about and I said I was giving my brother a police entrance exam with questions from third grade. We received some glares and hard looks, then hushed talk. I didn't even realize I was wearing a HK T shirt until my mom pointed it out when we got back to my office.
