Since General Sam Houston executed his famous retreat to glory to defeat the superior forces of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, Texas has been ground zero for military training. We have so many military bases in the Lone Star State we could practically attack Russia.
So when rookie Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced he was ordering the Texas National Guard to monitor a Navy SEAL/Green Beret joint training exercise, which was taking place in Texas and several other states, everybody here looked up from their iPhones. What?
It seems there is concern among some folks that this so-called training maneuver is just a cover story. What's really going on? President Obama is about to use Special Forces to put Texas under martial law.
Let's walk over by the fence where nobody can hear us, and I'll tell you the story.
You see, there are these Wal-Marts in West Texas (http://www.thecommonsenseshow.com/2015/04/30/closed-walmarts-to-be-guerilla-warfare-staging-areas-in-response-to-invasion/) that supposedly closed for six months for "renovation." That's what they want you to believe. The truth is these Wal-Marts are going to be military guerrilla-warfare staging areas and FEMA processing camps for political prisoners. The prisoners are going to be transported by train cars that have already been equipped with shackles (http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/texas-ranger-drops-jade-helm-bombshell-there-are-trains-with-shackles-on-them_04292015).
Don't take my word for it. That comes directly from a Texas Ranger, who seems pretty plugged in, if you ask me. You and I both know President Obama has been waiting a long time for this, and now it's happening. It's a classic false flag operation. Don't pay any attention the mainstream media; all they're going to do is lie and attack everyone who's trying to tell you the truth (http://www.infowars.com/mainstream-media-attacks-alex-jones-over-jade-helm-report).
"It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed upon."

- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas

Did I mention the ISIS terrorists? They've come across the border and are going to hit soft targets all across the Southwest. They've set up camp (http://www.thecommonsenseshow.com/2015/04/17/the-connection-between-jade-helm-and-isis/)a few miles outside of El Paso.
That includes a Mexican army officer and Mexican federal police inspector. Not sure what they're doing there, but probably nothing good. That's why the Special Forces guys are here, get it? To wipe out ISIS and impose martial law. So now you know, whaddya say we get back to the party and grab another beer?
It's true that the paranoid world-view of right-wing militia types has remarkable stamina. But that's not news.
What is news is that there seem to be enough of them in Texas to influence the governor of the state to react — some might use the word pander — to them.
That started Monday (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/texas-governor-abbott-orders-national-guard-military-takeover) when a public briefing by the Army in Bastrop County, which is just east of Austin, got raucous. The poor U.S. Army colonel probably just thought he was going to give a regular briefing, but instead 200 patriots shouted him down, told him was a liar and grilled him about the imminent federal takeover of Texas and subsequent imposition of martial law.
"We just want to make sure our guys are trained. We want to hone our skills," Lt. Col. Mark Listoria tried to explain in vain.
One wonders what Listoria was thinking to himself as he walked to his car after two hours of his life he'll never get back. God bless Texas? Maybe not.
The next day Gov. Abbott decided he had to take action. He announced that he was going to ask the State Guard to monitor Operation Jade Helm from start to finish.
"It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed upon," Abbott said.
The idea that the Yankee military can't be trusted down here has a long and rich history in Texas. But that was a while back. Abbott's proclamation that he was going to keep his eye on these Navy SEAL and Green Beret boys did rub some of our leaders the wrong way.
Former Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst tried to put it in perspective for outsiders (http://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/latest-columns/20150430-david-dewhurst-suspicion-of-our-own-troops-must-stop.ece) when he explained, "Unfortunately, some Texans have projected their legitimate concerns about the competence and trustworthiness of President Barack Obama on these noble warriors. This must stop."
Another former Republican politician was a bit more pointed (http://www.scribd.com/doc/263700043/Letter-to-Governor-Abbott).
"Your letter pandering to idiots ... has left me livid," former State Rep. Todd Smith wrote Gov. Abbott. "I am horrified that I have to choose between the possibility that my Governor actually believes this stuff and the possibility that my Governor doesn't have the backbone to stand up to those who do."
There's no argument that after the 2014 election, Texas politics took a further step to the right. The 84th session of the state legislature has given ample proof of that. But the events of this last week have been an eye-opener for Texans of all political stripes.
You will find the names of Texans etched into marble at war memorials from Goliad to Gettysburg, from Verdun to the Ardennes and Washington, D.C. The governor's proposition that these soldiers and sailors constitute a potential threat and need watching as they go about their duties, certainly stakes out some new political ground for the leader of the Texas GOP to stand on.

Is “Martial Law” Drill in U.S. Actually Prep for Russian Retaliation due to U.S. Arming of Ukraine?By Jay Syrmopoulos (http://thefreethoughtproject.com/author/jay-syrmopoulos/) on March 30, 2015

“We reserve the right to conduct conferences in Russia, Mexico and the U.S. to raise the question of breaking away the above mentioned states (Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming) from the U.S., and (about) supplying weapons to resistance fighters there,” Abdurakhmanov said.

http://tftppull.freethoughtllc.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maps1.jpgWashington, D.C. – Over the past week, a special operations “drill” known as Jade Helm 15 was announced which is scheduled to take place continuously between July 15th – September 15th in a number of Southwestern U.S. states. The states involved include Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Utah, Nevada, and California. The drill has made its way into the public consciousness and sparked fears (http://www.statesman.com/news/news/state-regional-govt-politics/covert-warfare-training-in-texas-sparks-some-fears/nkgpz/) amongst some of the martial law preparations.
While some perceive this as a training scenario for potential martial law scenarios, U.S. Army Special Operations Command has pushed back (http://www.stripes.com/news/us/army-special-operations-command-pushes-back-against-alarmist-claims-about-upcoming-exercise-1.335949) against claims that the upcoming U.S. military exercise is a preparation for imposing martial law or subduing right-leaning groups and individuals.

“That notion was proposed by a few individuals who are unfamiliar with how and why USASOC conducts training exercises,” said Army Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, a USASOC spokesman, in an email.
“This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for Army Special Operations Forces because they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice.”
According to the documents, soldiers will be training in “large areas of undeveloped land with low population densities,” and will be working with “civilians to gain their trust and an understanding of the issues.”
It goes on to state that some participants will be “wearing civilian clothes and driving civilian vehicles.” These factors, along with the overall nature of the exercise have created an atmosphere of heightened tension and outright suspicion.
A balanced analysis of the situation comes from Justin King of The Fifth Column News (http://thefifthcolumnnews.com/2015/03/the-truth-behind-jade-helm-15/):

To start out it may be best to clarify what Jade Helm is not. It is not a precursor to martial law. It is not an operation designed to round up American citizens for FEMA camps. It is not a UN ordered invasion. The truth behind Jade Helm is much less conspiratorial, but much more interesting.
After speaking to several former and active duty soldiers, The Fifth Column can say with almost certainty that Jade Helm is a massive Field Training Exercise (FTX) to enhance the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) capabilities of American special operations troops.
The uproar of Jade Helm was triggered by a map that surfaced on the internet labeling some areas of the United States as “hostile.” Had the sites that cast this as some plan for martial law researched the acronyms on the map, they would have quickly realized it was a large scale training exercise involving some of America’s most secretive units.
Another realistic possibility is that these special operations training scenarios are actually preparation for potential blowback from Russia, for supplying the Ukrainians with lethal aid.
On Thursday, the speaker of Russian client state Chechnya’s parliament, Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov, threatened to send sophisticated arms to Mexico (http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/chechnya-threatens-to-send-weapons-to-mexico-if-us-arms-ukraine/518064.html) if the U.S. supplied Ukraine with weapons.

“We will perceive arms shipments to Ukraine as a signal to respond in kind,” he stated on the parliament website (http://www.rferl.org/content/united-states-ukraine-russia-mexico-arms-/26921256.html).

Abdurakhmanov went on to state that he hopes the weapons will spark disputes over “territories annexed by the United States in the American states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and part of Wyoming,” providing a U.S. history lesson by invoking “the annexation of Texas in 1845, the negotiation of the Oregon Treaty with Great Britain in 1846, and the conclusion of the Mexican-American War in 1848, which ended with the signing and ratification of the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo in 1848.”

“It follows that the United States has no right to advise Russia [how] to behave with neighboring friendly people. Supply of arms [to] Ukraine will be perceived by us as a signal to the appropriate actions – we will begin delivery of new weapons Mexico to resume debate on the legal status of the territories annexed by the United States, which are now the US states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
We reserve the right to conduct conferences in Russia, Mexico and the U.S. to raise the question of breaking away the above mentioned states from the U.S., and [about] supplying weapons to resistance fighters there,” Abdurakhmanov said.
Abdurakhmanov is friends with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, who installed a pro-Russian government in the region after Russian President Vladimir Putin installed him as the president in 2007, according to Breitbart News (http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/03/27/chechen-speaker-threatens-to-arm-mexico-if-us-sends-weapons-to-ukraine/).
It is interesting to note that the states that the Jade Helm 15 drills are being held in would be virtually identical to the states listed as disputed territory with Mexico. While correlation isn’t causation, it seems like quite a coincidence that these drills are taking place in almost the exact same territory in which Abdurakhmanov has threatened to spark an international conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov refuted Abdurakhmanov’s comments in a statement carried Friday by the Interfax news agency, saying such move would defy the Russian law.
Of course no intelligence agency would ever violate the laws of its state to forward its geopolitical agenda, right?

The head of the legislature in Russia's Chechnya region says that Russia will provide arms to Mexico if Washington supplies weapons to Ukraine.
Chechen Parliament Speaker Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov said the arms would be aimed at reigniting U.S.-Mexican disputes over “territories annexed by the United States in the American states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and part of Wyoming.”
“We will perceive arms shipments to Ukraine as a signal to respond in kind,” Abdurakhmanov said in a March 24 statement posted on the Chechen parliament’s website.
Abdurakhmanov is a close associate of Ramzan Kadyrov, the Kremlin-backed strongman who rules Chechnya.
Prominent U.S. lawmakers have called on U.S. President Barack Obama to supply Ukraine with weapons they say will allow Kyiv to protect its territory against Russian-backed separatists.
The Obama administration has resisted the calls, saying the move could result in greater bloodshed between Ukrainian forces and the separatists in a conflict that has killed more than 6,000 people since April 2014.
