I'll be heading over to the Denver coin expo in a few hours; I will be reporting in later today with my findings and buys.

Be sure to come home heaver than when you left!

Or do they weigh you when you come in the door then when you are going?

I found the Prospector's Gold and Gems table (they're a local gold/silver shop in Ft. Collins, north of Denver), and I picked up these 6 and 7 oz bars (I already have 1 through 5):

Then I saw this 1973 silver art bar, and had to get it. A gift for Hitch, should we meet some day:

Then, at Dan Carr's table (dc-coin.com), he had just struck these yesterday: pirate silver, 40 reales worth of 999 fine silver. One reale is a "piece of eight", and 8 of them roughly equal to one silver dollar (appx 0.8 troy oz). This renders the 40 reale piece about 4 troy oz of silver. He artificially toned the coins to give them an "antiqued" look, which I'm not sure I like.

One last thing. While I was there, I figured what the heck, and picked up a couple of these:

Overall it was a very fun show, and tons of bullion to be had. Generic silver rounds for as low as a buck over spot.

Ha ha, got you guys! I never bought those two 10 oz gold bars, the dealer just let me hold them and take a photo in my hand. I'm not quite to the point of being able to afford $24,000 of gold for an impulse purchase. Ha ha!

That's a beautiful bar. Many thanks for the thought! Madfranks, I was born in 1973. When we meet, drinks and dinner is on me. :)

You were born in '73? Wow, that bar was made for you then!

Hey, I'll be in San Francisco for Memorial Day weekend in a couple weeks, if you're around let's get together!

Generic silver to be had for a buck over spot, with SAEs and other gov't silver around $19-20 each. Cheapest gold I found were generic bars and rounds for $50 over spot, cheapest 1/10 GAE for $135.

There was more bullion to be had than I've seen in a long time.
