This appears to be a hybrid moped and a mountain bike. A bare chassis you can bolt your own gear to.

At least it is using some mountain bike running gear with a small < 50cc engine. A honda I think. Should be able to run one of these on our roads without a motorcycle license, so long as it's under that 50cc power level.

They also have a cruiser variant and a Black Ops model.

for USD $2,500 I think you could probably throw down for a new or near new Ninja. There are a few other light frame motorcycles I've seen about. Chinese build, rebranded. There is a guy in the US who does that with choppers and cruisers. Same bikes are sold here in Aus by another guy doing the same thing but unrelated to the US guy.

I looked at buying a cheapo mountain bike a few years back and bolting something into the frame. You can purchase small engines with some cc's not sure how many. The bikes were about $200 and the engine was about $300 IIRC. Was going to make it and stash it in the shed in case it was needed for bugging out sometime.

There are quite a few people riding the mountain bikes + engine around, however they are not allowed on cycle paths (but they do) and need registering for the roads and you have limits on which roads. I get the impression the people riding them are probably doing so because of a license ban or something.

Its a shame to see so much chem trail action going on up there.

Sitting on that seat for 400 + miles .... I think I would prefer to hike it.

Here is an add on

yes its basically a bike saddle. I think the 400 miles would go more quickly than if you are pedalling the distance. A couple of young kids in that YT so their adventure probably makes it worth while.

You can spend $2500 on one of these or make something lighter and maybe carry less for 1/5th the price of that one.

People generally tend to believe that a change of position equals a change of condition somehow. I try to argue against that view myself. I think you are better off in a place where you are known and have sufficient supplies.

My neck of the woods. I am very surprised at the speed these guys get out of the motoped. I've got a 90cc trail bike, which tops out at maybe 35mph safely, and I won't do the ride they did. They were getting at least 40mph out of a 50 cc motor. I'm impressed. These things look like a lot of fun, I want one.

Societies problem. A WANT is viewed as a NEED.

certainly that is ideal. every situation is different however. Some might find that they cannot have a place of safety and be in a place where they are known etc. It might be that the lesser of two evils is to hit the road and try and survive on the move, or have a distant place of safety. Getting there might take planning, routes etc that are going to be open and usable during times turmoil. A car or truck is going to get attention and might not have as many route options.

If you are a 1 person show then a bike is a good option to get to somewhere. Not saying this one is it, but it is one idea. 400 miles is good mileage when fuel would be scarce. What you carry or stash is what you got. Hopefully no one needs to travel that far. I like that this one can carry a fair amount of gear as well. Needs to be quieter IMO.

There is one called escape goat or something, its a different kind of set up. It looks like 2 bike frames joined together to make a longer unit. Very quiet exhaust. You would be going past someone before they heard you. I think it's cumbersome looking but if you can do that quiet of a motor on the 1st one it would be good.

I bought a 150cc Stella for $2100 a couple years ago. It had less than 50 miles on it, so I got it tuned up and to this day it runs like new. I don't take it out very often, but for a "survival bike" it would be better than a little 50cc bike.
