Alasdair Macleod gave a breakdown of how the bankers want to end cash and how the cashless society will work. Basically the bankers will tax your holdings in banks to force you to spend. You won't be able to save in Gold/Silver, real estate, and other assets since these assets won't be allowed to go up much in value and when you try to convert them back to cash you'll get heavily taxed anyways.
