So basically, the risk that you might lose a wire bristle which then will make its way into your food where you can eat it and it can poke you from the inside is too great to warrant the scrubbing of your grill? I have a better idea, which is just pay attention when you clean your grill and make sure no bristles come off and get stuck.

I never use a brush unless the grill gets rusty. Just scrape the goods off with a spatula while heating up.

TPTB are always wanting you to "fear" every little thing of no real consequence.
Maybe that toothpick might splint off in your mouth and your tongue could become infected and you could die from cancer later on.
Sound ridiculous? I know someone it happened to but seriously, you think I going to walk around in fear of such a possibility?

There was something like this shown on a health channel, guy comes in the er and a x-ray showed a steel wire in his throat or stomach iirc. Come to find out the guy cleaned his grill with a wire brush, with I think the meat to be cooked nearby. Wire broke from the brush and landed on the food, wasn't noticed until he got sick later!

Clean grill keep food far away!

I think that was the episode of House when a person swallowed a toothpick while he was having sex in the car and somehow it got in his small intestine and perforated his bowel and he got an infection from almost died
