Hospitals are marking up treatments by 1,000 percent to rake in massive, obscene profits from the sick and dying
Tuesday, June 16, 2015

‘Many people today are leery of hospitals, often hesitant even to receive care for something as minor as a common cold. With constantly changing insurance hassles, record mix-ups and patients sometimes left feeling worse than when they arrived, it’s understandable. Then there’s the issue of your finances. According to a recent study published in the journal Health Affairs, if you were financially stable before heading to the hospital, chances are, you won’t be after leaving.

The study, conducted by experts from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and from Washington & Lee University who analyzed Medicare cost reports, found that many hospitals in the United States are charging unbelievably exorbitant fees. This isn’t anything minor, either. They noted that 50 hospitals in the country are marking up their medical services to the tune of over 1,000 percent above and beyond actual costs. It’s hitting the uninsured and out-of-network people the most, along with those covered by auto and worker’s compensation insurance.’

I know this personally

The amount profit these hospitals make is absolutely astounding

The amount of waste they engage in is nothing short of breath taking.

They have a laceration kit to stitch someone up ....it has up a local anesthic, benandine, guaze sisscors, tweezer and a couple swabs

I have seen them break open a kit just to get the swabs and toss the rest...the pt will get bill several hundread dollars just for this kit.

I have a working imfirmary because i scourge these kits before they are tossed in the trash.

The day after tommarrow sonething as simple as that will mean the difference between life and death.

They waste a ton, this is true. They make obscene profits, this is also true. It's all because there is no functioning price system allowed in the healthcare industry anymore. Everything is politics driven; they are not allowed to make business decisions based on sound economics anymore. Therefore they end up with massive losses or massive profits depending on the politics of the day.

If you want reasonable rates get rid of Gov and insurance companies. Problem solved when everyone is paying out of pocket.

Another trick is to pass a patient from Dr to Dr for different reasons, they get a bit from the insurance company and also from the sucker.

They are doing this to my X and I told her....."Sorry honey but I cannot pay for your co-payment", at my age I have to take care of myself first second and third.

American health care is a government protected monopoly.

A sterling example of Judeo-Fascism.

Health care outside the United States is so much better and cheaper.

I’m serious.

Are you done yet?

Are you ready to grab the wood, the nails, the hammer and the rope?

Are you ready to demand that this crap — all of it in the medical system — be stopped?

All of it — not some of it, all of it.

Monopolist practices, refusal to disclose prices before services are rendered, billing $157 worth of a nutritional supplement out for more than $44,000 and more?

WHEN IS YOUR TOLERANCE LIMIT REACHED AMERICA?

WHEN?

Is it before or after you’re financially and personally decimated?’

If a person wants to be a Dr the government should be willing to pay for it all....with one condition.....after he becomes one he would work for the people free of charge for five to seven years, depending on his speciality.
