Complicated but, she was pregnant with the next King. And it wasn't one of theirs.

Plenty to speculate on regarding *embarrassing* the royals and was therefore a liability 'loose end', e.g.:

Prince Harry was most likely sired by her bodyguard
She was set to marry an Arab and possibly have a child by him
She knew their dirty secrets
etc.

That's what I thought but wanted to see what the consensus was.

none of the current offspring can be on the throne due to the Settlement Act 1701.

This stipulates that no catholic can sit on the throne. All the offspring are either catholic or take their lineage under the Prince of Wales. The PoW cannot succeed to the throne as he is devoid of power authority.

Prior to the execution of the last King, the throne held the power of both the Lord High Admiral and the Lord High Constable. These were split at some point after or because of the Kings execution.

Now the Throne only holds the Lord High Admiral, which is why everything is piracy and admiralty law. The Lord High Constable is held by someone, not a royal and I do not know the exact mechanics of this.

I was correct and it was confirmed several years later when these stories appeard in news papers about changing the laws to recognise catholics on the throne.
