I agree with you that slavery was a bad idea though. I think that races naturally segregate from one another, and this would be the same with whites had not most of them been brainwashed that "integration" and "racial melting pot" were required of them. No other race on the whole planet is bombarded with messages of the importance of race mixing but whites.

I thought it was the North wanted the raw products/material from the South, to be sold to them at cheaper rates than what the South was selling the same products to e.g. England for. So they began to restrict exports from the South of raw products, but exempted finished goods (produced in the factories of the North). Is that not accurate?

The Shoshoni people defeated the Paiutes in a major war between the two tribes. The Shoshoni were the victors. Even today a Paiute will step asíde and allow the Shoshoni to pass.

My grandfather's grandfather was a Tennessee "recruiter" (most hated) during the War, and, he told my grandfather the reason he fought was because the yankees INVADED and acted like hoodlums, burning, roughing up, killing, and needed a good ass-kicking. Of course, both sides had a song to sing, but the southern regular was fighting to EVICT, forcefully, yankees from raising hell in the backyards of these southern boys.

I read somewhere that the crux of the problem started during the 1776 revolution, when the south paid up to 20% export tax on their tobacco and cotten to finance the war effort. After victory, the US constitution made no provision for an "export" tax, but, the south continued to pay because their cotten and tobacco export was the bulk of the funds to support any government at all, and, G Washington himself was from Virginia, and, at 1812, the southerners again realized how important it was to keep the central government funded, so they kept on paying, in spite of an export tax not being specified in the Constitution.

When Lincoln was elected, he got his majority congress to up the export tax from 28% to 43%, which broke the back of the southern planters, who finally decided to point out that such a tax (export on agriculture) was not even constitutional.

They met with Lincoln to try to work out a comprimise, but Lincoln insisted on getting his 43% and, when Lincoln sent several fully loaded warships with supplies and re-inforcements to Sumpter, that straw broke the camel's back.

It was also said that, with such a steep export tax, the southern planters would have been better off just selling their yield to northern industrialists instead of to England and Europe, which gave northern industrialists an unnatural advantage, gained ONLY by the south's inclusion, willingly up until then, in the US system.

Given this analysis, it would just make sense for the southern planters to simply desolve the "contract" and go their own way - sounds reasonable when you think of it that way. But my great-great-grandfather didn't know about any of that - he was just righteously ticked off to see unruly yankees come barging in shooting, burning, and acting like caribbean pirates with absolutely no concern for the genteel life of southerners who wanted nothing more than to be left alone.

I learned a long time ago, as a child, that the true villian was Lincoln, and he was propped up by the most vicious gang of industrialists up north who added it all up and figured they could get away with it - a bunch of war mongers who DID get away with it but at the cost of the lives of so many ordinary americans, both north and south, who had no idea what the hell it was all about from the beginning.

When I would hear these stories as a child, I just couldn't understand why ordinary boys from the north could be talked into making such hell on their southern cousins - just didn't make sense to me - leave their homes, plod around in the mud and take pot shots and get shot at, and, all the time they must have been wondering what all the fuss was about - no southerners were invading THEIR homes nor scarring the shit out of their women. Gold and Silver seem to be boring right now. We all joined this forum since we were into Gold and Silver. The price dropped off a cliff and has stayed down for years now and our community is a wreck. I think most left for that reason since most people are upside down in their Gold/Silver holdings and feel cheated, burnt out, and disgusted with precious metals. I doubt anyone would still post here if all the other craziness wasn't still around.

until 5 years ago, I was too very pro ron paul... then I got struck by the Light.

"Those figures are laughable in the context of the total European population of 500 million. The figures you are talking about are literally a drop in the ocean. We could easily handle that. Germany could take a lot more and still have a deficiency in terms of its aging population. Today's population in Germany is over 55% in favour of having more migrants.

Governments have to lead by giving the positive news that migrants are good for a community, economically and every other way rather than constantly expressing them as a burden because they are not really a burden. Within a very short period of time they contribute positively to the community in which they live.

It's going to take a long time to solve the inherent problems of north Africa and sub-Saharan Africa so we're going to live with the issue of migration for a very long time.”
