Thought I had found some decent alt business news

https://www.google.com/webhp?#q=business+news

Most of them jam video ads in your face. No thanks.

So I found this ==>

https://global.handelsblatt.com/

German Business News !

On second thought ...
https://global.handelsblatt.com/edition/202/ressort/european-lifestyles/article/reliving-the-holocaust-stone-by-stone

I've learned to keep some websites like Zero Hedge not open in browser windows, they suck up resources and stuff video ads in your face.

i have a Script blocker and a Flash blocker.

as an example, this morning when the real estate sales numbers were announced, the currency markets (including Gold and Silver) immediately reacted.

to figure out what was going on, i needed (or wanted) to see what happened at 9 AM Eastern, what Business News came out.

wading through Bloomberg and 99% of the other business news websites, to get to a simple article ... it was like an obstacle course filled with video ads and video content that had NO RELATION to the information i needed.

to deal with Facebook, i just don't leave a Facebook window open. i'm not sure why the videos on Facebook automatically play.

what happened to the web design honcho's, the people that talk about "clean uncluttered looks" ... i guess they changed their 'design parameters' to "have an ad pop up every time you move your mouse". /sarc

then i finally found a decent looking news site, that German one ... OOPS ... Holohoax Advertising front and center.

it's an opportunity.

ad block plus. been said, been done. No ads, not even embedded in videos. I've had it since before YT put in ads. I didn't realise how pervasive ads were until I had compatibility problems for a short time and it wasn't working.

I'll 4th Ad Block Plus along with NoScript. Using FF here.

Very important that we also surf the internet ONLY using a limited "User" level account...never a full "Admin" level account.

Part of the problem is how pages render as they load.

I'm using 4 or 5 different browsers so I have about 100 pages open at any given time.

Bloomberg loads differently on different browsers.

Bloomberg on Firefox 39 over a med. speed wireless (6 core/ 12 T ) system ... lesson in patience.

as the page loads, things jump around.

you're scanning the headlines, then go to click - and it moves because the page re-sized. it's like a fvcking video game !

CTRL-W (to close the page) time.

there's a major file-name shortener out there that locks everything and then waits for your payment bribe to unlock it for security.

i avoided it but it makes me a little more cautious about loading 3rd party programs.

the multiple endorsements of Adblock plus is encouraging ! :)
