Every single web host I'm looking at has more or less the same offers.
And all are twice as much as I paid a year ago.
Who owns this friggin internets?
And again who the hell needs 100gb for a web page? what am I, a T.V. News station?

I'll check it out. Thanks
Went thru about 3 or 4 of the majors. Everything appears like phone plans from AT&T or Sprint...3 plans all of which i have little use for .
And they all give breaks to newcomers...is this like car or health insurance in the U.S. everything is one big monopoly... no real competitors...? Everyone just cycles thru these majors thinking that they are competing with each other, when its all just a collusive cluster hump..

Get a good plan and sub host to all your buddies for 2 bux a month paying for your plan in the process. I have been looking for a while and see what you are experiencing. I dont want to pay 2 or 3 years up front for some shitty host having to eat it when I decide they totally suck. Blowdaddy is month to month but everything is extra and they hold you hostage with the extras. Fucking jews.

The majors must all be getting orders from the same crew, 2X increase since last year,
maybe they're gearing up to move everyone into the clouds?
Fahk that!

From what I read blowdaddy owns 6 major players with who knows how many subs. I think they are all conglomerates making it look like there is competittion while in reality there is none. Like I said, get a plan where you can sub host, I'll come right on board.

Ofcourse it happens when I'm 3 days away from losing my domain, (like every other lemming) the immediate rush to a "New Introductory Offer" cannot be avoided at that point just before the cliff.
When they said Renew Now! I'd thought petrol deflation had taken its route course thru all markets.

i suggest asking the host what the domain names of the hosted content is.
some hosts sub-contract their hosting and the actual domain name will get flagged by anti-virus software because other people at the same host have raised a red-flag.
one idea then is to enter the hosted name in a link on Facebook.
i wouldn't normally suggest FB but they have maybe decent anti-virus software and if the domain you're thinking about ending up with is going to be lumped in with crap websites ... you should know about it before you do all that work signing up, FTP'ing, debugging, etc.

I think the minimum plan they offer is 100gb at those majors, I only need like 1gb at most.
Emails I do thru Google servers. this is the team I was thinking on joining after godaddy turned so viciously ugly. with price increase of 4X in 2years.

That's another question, say i transfer domain to this new blue...
Does it screw with the original Gmail settings? I think it should be possible to leave domain registry with godaddy and have this new "Blue" host me correct?
That way i have domain with godaddy, host with blue, and email with Google.
Nice and stupidly organized all with separate account passwords

He was very liberal towards domain migration,
Do you know anything about it?

Sadly my friend, I do not . That is one direction I have never walked or tried.
Except the time that I was trying to setup the old library here and getting pdf files posted in it using FTP to our slum lord. At the time I considered making my own site with links here to the files.
But that was a few lifetimes ago.
May I ask what are you trying to do?
And what kind of info/site you want to setup?

May I ask what are you trying to do?
Trying to avoid what is an obvious onslaught monopoly being created in web hosts.
Its the principle, when someone doubles my rates and gives me twice as much stuff (that I dont need) I walk away from them.

Understand
Unasked and unwanted upgrades just because the provider can make more bucks....Sucks.
Tho that is a common model that most providers use. I wish I could help you on this and can find a way, I have a feeling that the big names are not for you as it seems like you have found.
If you ask/yell long enough maybe someone that hears you can point you in the correct direction.
Good luck in the contest !

If you don't need a lot of bandwidth set up your own server:

If you go with blue you have to point the name servers to the new host. You can leave the registry at blowdaddy.
I don't understand the gmail thing, do you have contact forms pointing to it? You might need to mess with the mail server settings on the new host ~ use remote mail exchange instead of local.

Migration just means download your entire site/backup and upload via FTP to new host.

Is ok for your domain name to still be registrar with the old godaddy, correct?
I mean if i moved that registered domain over to bluehost it might screwup the gmail email settingz?

Shouldn't be a big deal, the reset is with the internal email server which too me a bunch of time to figure out... good luck trying to find the fix.
