Justice Clarence Thomas on Friday wrote a fiery dissent in response to the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision (http://www.businessinsider.com/supreme-court-gay-marriage-ruling-2015-6) that gay couples have a constitutional right to marry. In it, he took issue with the concepts of "liberty" and "dignity." He argued that the petitioners in this case were not deprived of their liberty, as they have been allowed to travel and settle freely without government intervention.
This is why, Thomas wrote, the majority led by Justice Anthony Kennedy focused its opinion on the petitioners' "dignity."
But Thomas wrote that there is no "dignity" clause in the US Constitution — and that, even if there was, the government could not bestow it upon a person or take it away.
To make his point, he invoked the examples of slavery and internment camps. From his dissent (http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/14-556_3204.pdf):
The corollary of that principle is that human dignity cannot be taken away by the government. Slaves did not lose their dignity (any more than they lost their humanity) because the government allowed them to be enslaved. Those held in internment camps did not lose their dignity because the government confined them. And those denied governmental benefits certainly do not lose their dignity because the government denies them those benefits. The government cannot bestow dignity, and it cannot take it away.
Thomas went on to write that one's liberty and dignity should be shielded from the government — not provided by it.
"Today’s decision casts that truth aside. In its haste to reach a desired result, the majority misapplies a clause focused on 'due process' to afford substantive rights, disregards the most plausible understanding of the 'liberty' protected by that clause, and distorts the principles on which this Nation was founded. Its decision will have inestimable consequences for our Constitution and our society," Thomas wrote in conclusion.

Many of the 1.7 million people who like Franklin Graham’s Facebook page are giving a big thumbs-up to his reaction to the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage decision. That message was posted by the head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association shortly after the high court ruled 5-4 that same-sex couples have a nationwide right to marry, no matter what individual states or their residents might say.
As of this writing, more than 130,000 people have liked Graham’s statement, which reads in part: “With all due respect to the court, it did not define marriage, and therefore is not entitled to re-define it.” And the number of Facebook likes for the pastor’s reaction is growing rapidly.

Just yesterday, possibly in anticipation of the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage as a constitutional right nationwide, the Rev. Graham commented on the White House event President Obama hosted for LGBT activists earlier this week. Graham told his Facebook audience that the shift in attitudes about so-called ‘gay rights’ exhibited by Americans in recent years represents a dangerous “moral decline” and an acceptance of “sin as something to be proud of.”
That Facebook post has also generated tremendous response, with close to 155,000 likes, nearly 50,000 shares, and more than 18,000 comments. You can read Franklin Graham’s Thursday message on ‘gay rights’ below.

'Marriage' is where one MAN and one WOMAN become one in the flesh, which is a natural act. Man on man action and woman on woman action are strictly unnatural making 'marriage' literally impossible.

This nonsense is strictly about privileges and benefits bestowed by the corporate state to it's (legal fiction) creations (aka 'persons'). It's for those who view the state as their god/nanny/creator.

Graham doesn't seem to understand that religious marriage and political/economic marriage are two different things. As far as the state is concerned, marriage is a purely economic issue. This is what the SC ruled on.

If gays are dying to experience all the bullshit associated with state-run "marriage", then by all means...go for it! Don't say I didn't warn you!

Governor Abbott Statement On Supreme Court Ruling On Same-Sex Marriage
Friday, June 26, 2015 • Austin, Texas • Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage ruling:

“The Supreme Court has abandoned its role as an impartial judicial arbiter and has become an unelected nine-member legislature. Five Justices on the Supreme Court have imposed on the entire country their personal views on an issue that the Constitution and the Court’s previous decisions reserve to the people of the States.

“Despite the Supreme Court’s rulings, Texans’ fundamental right to religious liberty remains protected. No Texan is required by the Supreme Court’s decision to act contrary to his or her religious beliefs regarding marriage.

“The Texas Constitution guarantees that ‘[n]o human authority ought, in any case whatsoever, to control or interfere with the rights of conscience in matters of religion.’ The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion; and the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act, combined with the newly enacted Pastor Protection Act, provide robust legal protections to Texans whose faith commands them to adhere to the traditional understanding of marriage.

“As I have done in the past, I will continue to defend the religious liberties of all Texans—including those whose conscience dictates that marriage is only the union of one man and one woman. Later today, I will be issuing a directive to state agencies instructing them to prioritize the protection of Texans’ religious liberties.”

In 2003 the SC ruled in favor of sodomy calling consentual sex between 2 adults a 14th amendment right. I guess that paved the way for gay marraige. I dont remember anyone being outraged in 2003. By this logic isnt prostitution also legal now? Why cant you pay a man or women for sex when corporations pay politicians to fuck us all?

I'm kind of glad this is over, maybe now the queers can stop pushing their gay activism. Enough of the rainbow on everything pictures.

Now that everyone is 'equally' married, the queers should start acting like adults, stop posting and flooding the internet with flaunting their sexual preference of women sucking on each other's vagina's and males sucking on other males rectums.

You don't see married heterosexual's constantly posting about their preference of male/female intercource the way God/nature intended

It's time for the fagots to grow up and stop grossing everyone out!

Oh, and put you damn clothes back on and stop parading your queer asses around in public.

I'm not on Jewish facebook, but I saw someone else's and saw that. I read the Jew Mark Zuckerberg's facebook offered the rainbow effect as soon as sodomy law was celebrated.

Facebook Launches 'Celebrate Pride' Tool Which Puts A Rainbow Filter Over Profile Pictures

Hooknose Jew Rat
http://blogs-images.forbes.com/amitchowdhry/files/2015/06/Mark-Zuckerberg-Celebrate-Pride.jpg

Facebook has launched a tool that lets users show their support of marriage equality. Facebook’s “Celebrate Pride” tool was announced by co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg. The tool was launched shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is now considered a fundamental constitutional right guaranteed under the 14th Amendment.

By visiting the “Celebrate Pride” tool on Facebook, you will see a preview of your profile picture with a rainbow filter. If you click “use as profile picture,” then your existing profile photo will be uploaded with the rainbow filter that is similar to Zuckerberg’s photo above.

“I’m so happy for all of my friends and everyone in our community who can finally celebrate their love and be recognized as equal couples under the law,” said Zuckerberg in a Facebook post. “We still have much more to do to achieve full equality for everyone in our community, but we are moving in the right direction.”

Facebook is not the only technology company that showed its support for marriage equality. Apple has been supporting benefits that covers same sex partners since 1993. Google, Amazon and Microsoft also filed friend of the court papers in a U.S. Supreme Court case involving the Defense of Marriage Act, according to CNET. Those companies insisted that the lack of federal recognition of same sex marriages negatively affects company morale and makes tax benefits complicated. Here is a tweet that Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote following the Supreme Court ruling:
