Young Daniel Tanner liked to Blow Sh.t Up.
Then the ATF came along and Tanner got an explosives license.
Tannerite = Ammonium Nitrate + Aluminum Powder.
Ammonium Nitrate can be a high explosive.
With the Aluminum Powder added ... well watch out.

FPS Russia Dude also liked to Blow Sh.t Up - and make videos of it.
Then the ATF came along and FPS Russia Dude had some additional food for thought.
He eventually got an explosives license (I think for entertainment ?) and he's STILL blowing sh.t up.
From reading about Tannerite ... one guy tried to buy it in bulk (50 pounds).
He succeeded. Then the ATF showed up at his door. Not sure how that worked out.
Anyay, back to FPS Russia guy. In the one video he is detonating 200 pounds of Tannerite using an L96 sniper rifle (European rifle which might fire a 308, the 308 is not usually a sniper round.)

The BOOOOM sound is the sonic boom. Actually, there's 2 of them. One from the rifle, a bigger one from the blast.
OK well, in case your Inner Pyromaniac was feeling neglected.

Classical subtitles! And if you are worried about ending up on NSA-lists, probably not a good idea to watch!

Maryland banned it, so far.

Kyle's got several million listens.
Earlier this year up near Mt. Hood near Portland in Oregon, someone or somebodies (plural) detonated somewhere between 50 and 100 pounds.
From looking at the videos, you can get a feel for the amount of Tannerite that leaves behind a crater over 10 feet across (in the ground.) That's why I say, at least 50 pounds in the Mt. Hood Tannerite incident, because the news article said the crater is 11 or 12 feet, and the pictures are consistent with that.
I think that might have been about when the articles came out about "The Dangers of Tannerite". Sort of, good publicity, MAYBE.
What they are selling is a de-tuned b*mb, and there's a really wierd sensitivity about the language. (can't call it a b*mb ?) Tannerite sued various networks for nominal amounts ($75K) - and got more publicity.

I'm confused - somebody help me. What is all the fuss about? So, you can buy the two compounds and set off an explosion - so what?
You can buy all the firearm rounds you want, take the bullets out, accumulate the powder and make a wallop of a bang! What is the big deal? Why would anyone want to waste money just to see something go kaboom? You can also probably get some kind of a bang out of gasoline by mixing it up with something or other - I just don't see why this is getting so much attention.
Plus, messing around with explosives can cause you to loose a finger, toe, or limb. At 8 years old, I was lighting firecrackers and got a "quickie" (the kind that go off way too soon), and it made all my fingers go numb and got discolored - I got a whipping to boot, but, at least, my fingers healed up. I decided playing around with explosives was not a good idea. Is this just a fad, or what?

A fellow who owned a bait shop where I worked as a teen one summer had a 20something son who liked to take a gallon of Coleman fuel, pour it in one of those minnow bags they sold minnows in and then filled up the balance of the bag with pure O2 (which was injected into the minnow bag when we filled the bag with minnows). You can guess the outcome.

Same exact shit happened to me but my parents weren't home. I hid my hand for a week before I could even use it. That was a learned lesson for me. Other kids would pinch the bottom of a firecracker with no ill results. Fvck that to this day. I Lost 3 fingernails on that experience, could have been much worse. After that I would unroll them and burn the powder in strategic places.
The new firecrackers have almost zero gun powder, not sure what it is but some do work good. Still wont pinch them.

The firecrackers they sell today are pure crap compared to what we got.

What about a propane tank, does armor piercing incendiary make it thru one of those?
Maybe if you wrapped it up with one of these? Wonder what the safe distance would be?
I've played with incendiary rounds on spray paint cans, they really didn't shred though, just poofed all their gas into a ball. Or atleast thats how i remember it after patting down a small portion of the desert from a brush fire.

it's a high explosive, and it's scalable - you can use the 1/2 pound plastic jar.
or as a lot of people do, forget the jars and put 20 or 200 pounds in a container. that's what i mean by 'scalable'.
it does with high explosives what the first PC's did with computers - made them accessible to "every man".
with the TSA, DHS, FBI, and ATF running around having a cow about just about, well, everything ...

you can if you're willing to pay $6.50 a pound for it - a typical retail price for Tannerite.
i think you need a permit to get the 40 cents a pound agricultural rate.
