Oddly, ‘Nobel prize winner’ Michael Mann was not invited to sign The Mainau Declaration for climate protection

Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

To mark the final day of the 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, on Friday, 3 July, over 30 Nobel laureates assembled on Mainau Island on Lake Constance signed a declaration on climate change. The “Mainau Declaration 2015 on Climate Change” states “that the nations of the world must take the opportunity at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015 to take decisive action to limit future global emissions.” It is expected that a new international agreement on climate protection will be approved at the 21st UN Climate Conference to succeed the Kyoto Protocol.

Following on from the latest climate policy resolutions adopted by the G7 states and the environment- and climate-oriented encyclical “Laudato si'” issued by Pope Francis, the Nobel laureates’ declaration is another urgent warning of the consequences of climate change. “If left unchecked, our ever-increasing demand for food, water, and energy will eventually overwhelm the Earth’s ability to satisfy humanity’s needs, and will lead to wholesale human tragedy,” the declaration continues.

http://canadafreepress.com/images/uploads/KAISER070315.jpgThere is an annual conference of Nobel Prize Laureates (NPL), commonly held on the picturesque island of Mainau in Lake Constance, Germany, picture below. The 65th of such meetings, under the name Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings just concluded.

Purpose of the Meetings

The purpose of their meetings is found on their website:
Once every year, some dozens of Nobel Laureates convene at Lindau to meet the next generation of leading scientists: undergraduates, PhD students, and post-doc researchers from all over the world. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings foster the exchange among scientists of different generations, cultures, and disciplines.

Undoubtedly, it’s a laudable intention and, who knows, there may well be future Nobel Laureates among the listeners. The assembled laureates also have become known for signing “declarations” of sorts that are supposed to warn the world of potential problems and consequences. This year was no exception. A total of 36 out of 65 Nobel Laureates signed the “Mainau Declaration 2015 on Climate Change;” available in six languages. You may have noticed that’s just barely over one half of the attendees.

If one thing is obvious, not everyone buys into the climate-change and doom-and-gloom hype! Now, let’s drill down a bit further and look at the numbers in different Nobel Prize fields of honor.

Drastic reduction in "carbon emissions" = drastic reduction in use of mechanized agriculture = drastic reduction in world population.

When "they" have a long list of Nobel recipients to choose from, other than those granted it via Affirmative Action "for peace," that complaint can be made. Oh, wait, Nobel Prizes in Physics, for example, should be awarded to those whose "advanced science" is magic potions and grass huts.
