Just checked the title, not sure how good or if it is a doom and gloom romance ?

OK, the reviews got me hooked.

The problem is I don't have a kindle device - and my eyes are so old and near sighted I can't enjoy reading a book anymore, unless it is LARGE PRINT.

I don't usually read anything unless I can put it up on my 40" LCD screen I use as a computer monitor (in portrait mode). Is there an app that is compliant with win2000 that will take a kindle book and throw it up on my display as text, with controls so I can line down, line up, page down, page up, and GOTO PAGE? Or is there a way to convert the Kindle download to a straight Windows NOTEPAD *.txt file? That would work best for me. I need a way to increase the size of the font - during the day my eyes adjust and I need to bump the font size from time to time. Also, I need to make sure WORD WRAP is an option - text that runs off the page to the right on my portrait positioned display is very irritating - word wrap solves that pesky problem very nicely.

Anybody? Help?

Try this, it should work for you.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UB76290/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=68608935643&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3410344424280735171&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_8xqa4ovrm2_b

Then send the downloaded book to your kindle app using this if needed. But probably will not be needed if you have your kindle for pc registered, but the program is nice to send other non amazon mobi books.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle

you can adjust your font and also text size.

There are also other programs that you can use to change mobi kindle to almost any other format, that I have posted before, message me for details if needed.

Mystery, suspense

A Well-Pressed Shroud

Hardworking Detective Inspector Montague Pluke has decided to take a much-needed holiday from his job at the Crickledale CID to go in search of the Lost Giants' Horse Trough of Trippingdale. Fresh country air and a visit to the prestigious Trippingdale Castle - what more could anyone want? But his holiday is abruptly disturbed when, while searching the closed-down estate, Pluke stumbles upon the body of the estate's heir floating face down in shallow waters. To make matters even stranger, the heir and several other people in the village had recently received a single pressed snowdrop - a well-known sign of death. Much to Pluke's displeasure, his quiet countryside holiday is turning into a hair-raising hunt for the murderer. It could be anyone in the village... Can he find the murderer before another body is found?
Or is this well-pressed shroud a harbinger for a series of killings that Pluke will fail to prevent?

Thanks for linking the books, I picked up a couple of them, although I already have like 4 or 5 on the queue. When it comes to e-books there is no such thing as too many , one can never have enough books in your library!

The more the merrier, for current , future and reading again all over again later.

Its not that there are no shelfs of tombs that eats up space as in a physical library !

The only limit is the amount of memory the reader has on board,(device not wet ware ;) ) and that is what dvd,cd's and hard drives are for.

Also get them while they are at free now when offered, most will not be at a later date.

Bump. This book, Steps, is no long free unless you have kindle unlimited. However, it's a really good book! I'm halfway through it and having a hard time putting it down.

Thanks Dogman, you get my vote for GSUS member of the year. I was going to vote for ComputerYe, but you've edged ahead.

Yep!

The books are offered free for a very limited time, sometimes hours and or just days, then no longer free.

That is why you need to get them while the deal is hot.

And thanks for lumping me with Computerye.........>:(

May a pox be up on you and may a seagull take a dump on your head today

Not cool! I literally spent hours washing the boat yesterday, and I can hear the gulls making a racket as we speak.

Besides, backhanded compliments are still compliments...

Anyway, it's good to see you thinking today. ;D
