Japan export of agricultural products in 2014 grew to highest since 1955 / The second largest importer is USA

On 2/10/2015, MAFF (the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) announced the export value of Japanese agricultural products grew to the highest since they started taking the statistics in 1955. The value was 622 billion (611,700,000,000) yen, which increased 11.1 % from the previous year. The export value has been stably increasing since 2012.
The largest importer was Hong Kong, the second largest importer was USA.
Among the export items, the most increased item was pearl to Hong Kong, which increased 43.2 % from the previous year. The second most increased item was scallop to USA, which increased 24.1 % from the previous year.
