Lawsuit: Louisiana police "beat and sodomized" innocent man

http://i0.wp.com/media.boingboing.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Nightstick.jpg?zoom=1.5&resize=272%2C228In a federal lawsuit (PDF (https://boingboing.net/pdf/DesmondLewis.pdf)) filed against four Shreveport police officers, a Houston man claims that he was sodomized with a nightstick after being forced into the back of a patrol car.
Excessive force, assault, negligent hiring, battery and false imprisonment are among the allegations made in the lawsuit, filed July 10, which also names the city of Shreveport as a defendant.
According to his lawsuit, Desmond Lewis had just left an area Walgreens on July 12, 2014, when Shreveport police officers mistook him for a burglary suspect they were looking for.
Admitting that be fled "out of fear" when the officers demanded that he approach their vehicle, Lewis said he was pursued, arrested and handcuffed.
Rather than let him go when they realized he was not their suspect, however, officers allegedly punched him "several times in the face," then forced him face-down into the back of a patrol vehicle. The officers, he claims, began beating him in the legs with a nightstick, then forced the nightstick "into the rectum."
The lawsuit claims that he required (and received) medical attention for serious injuries as a result of the arrest. Lewis was charged with resisting arrest and battery of a police officer and spent 40 days in jail. The charges were dropped.
Bill Goodin, a spokesperson for the department, declined to comment to the Shreveport Times (http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/crime/2015/07/31/shreveport-police-officers-slapped-lawsuit/30931319/) and KTBS (http://www.ktbs.com/story/29676171/federal-civil-rights-lawsuit-alleges-shreveport-police-illegally-arrested-sodomized-suspect).

Will it ever end?

The nightstick? I'm sure it ended somewhere up in his rectum. It could only go so far.

Another person but reason to fear the PoPo.

Warning: Some swearing involved.

Audio of Alabama Cop explaining how to murder a black resident then cover it up.

Alexander City Alabama Police Officer Troy Middlebrooks plots murder and
cover-up of black resident Vincent Bias whom he felt got off too light
for breaking the law so he was going to take it in to his own hands. Not
soon after this was recorded Middlebrooks was key in clearing a fellow
officer of any wrong doing in the death of another black man

Sorry, it's a LiveLeak link (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f6f_1438792608). Audio only.

An Alabama police chief is sticking up for an officer in his department after a recording revealed that he threatened to kill a black man and claim self-defense.
Even after the recording -- which contains explicit, uncensored language -- was made public by The Guardian (http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/aug/04/alabama-police-officer-murder-black-man-self-defense?CMP=share_btn_tw), Alexander City police officer Troy Middlebrooks will keep his job on patrol. Instead of reprimanding Middlebrooks, city authorities who heard the recording settled with the intended victim, Vincent Bias, for $35,000.

They need to start taking these settlements directly from the cop's pension. They don't care if the victims settle because the taxpayer is footing the bill.

shades of "Amadou Diallo", near exact same thing happened to him.

in his case the 'Welcome Wagon' was NYPD.

when i post these things on Facebook, i get few if any responses.

pet pictures get LOADS of responses.

conclusion ... my Facebook friends are sort of "lily white", they
are not outraged by the epidemic of police brutality because
they think it won't happen to them.

when i was younger, i would read about anarchists, but i never felt anarchist-ic.

however, American authority figures are so corrupt now, the logical conclusion
is to de-fund most police departments - and governments.

so technically, that i believe that, probably means that i'm an anarchist now.
