BANGKOK (AP) - Thailand's military courts have issued the harshest sentences in recent decades for two people convicted of insulting the monarchy on Facebook.
A man in Bangkok was sentenced to prison for 30 years, and a mother of two young girls was sentenced in northern Thailand for 28 years.
The watchdog group iLaw said the Bangkok Military Court sentenced Pongsak Sriboonpeng on Friday to 60 years imprisonment, 10 for each message, but halved his sentence because he admitted wrongdoing.
The hotel worker in the northern province of Chiang Mai was also found guilty of posting offensive Facebook comments, but had her cumulative sentence halved to 28 years after pleading guilty.
Thailand's lese majeste law mandates prison terms of three to 15 years for defaming, insulting or threatening the monarchy.

When I was stationed there back when, we were told a few no no's that we should never do.

Never never say anything remotely bad about their king or the country.

Never touch another person on the top of the head.

Never when sitting point your feet at anyone or raise them over any ones heads and the king was dam near if not worshiped by the people there that I could see when living there.

Guess that goes for his "wife"also........................... I think so because she was royal.

While I was there it was announced that the king would be coming to the city to visit>?< I can not remember. But at the time of his visit it seems like the whole dam city of Ubon turned out and lined the main drag. I can remember the street was very wide and the sides were packed with people..

Here come the kings convoy and they BLASTED through town, one second he was there and the next second POOF gone. I thought it was funny as hell, the convoy must have been moving better than 70 mph with lights and sirens blasting.

Side note:

I think I still have a QSL card from him, I remember sending him one also, need to dig and see if I still have it, he was a Ham radio nut also.

Fox-J.York chose a deliberately 'unflattering' image for them... a clue that the zio-west is unhappy with some perceived disobedience from them. I recall djooz were unhappy with the Spring '13 mil coup.

http://www.toqonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/jews_whining.jpg

The TH mil's top oath is, protect the monarchy. So the king ordered the coup, resulting from the preceding months of civilian-republic gov gridlock which was causing public services to starve & crumble. Western joozmedia immediately portrayed the coup as bad, yada yada, and djooz.western.govs (mainly USrael) imposed various sanctions/withdrawals/etc. After all, TH's core "red shirts vs yellow shirts conflict" was orchestrated/funded by djooz (one of the Soros-esque "colour" revolutions which I think Glass is ref'ing); and the coup stomped it out. Djooz/West obviously have no authentic problems with anti-democratic brutal mil dictatorships, to wit the saudis; it's only a question of said gov(s) acting in compliance with their JWO agenda, which is categorically anti-national-interest(s).

TH has been under mil.gov since... was the coup Apr or May?... 2013. TH.mil's initial stance was that they expected to be in power for approx 1 year while they straighten everything out, then return to civilian gov. Now, ~2.25 years later, mil's still there. "Pure speculation", but beat on the street was/is, mil is "running out the clock" on the king's mortality (king's mostly lived in a bangkok hospital for the past several years). Mil will then & only then, transition back to civilian gov, in a hopefully "orderly way." Question remains, will the king have appointed one of his sons, both widely known to be spoiled/corrupt; or will he "skip a generation" and appoint one of his grandchildren?

Mil coups, ultimately at the bequest of the king/monarchy, are a de facto "branch of gov" in TH, comparable to US prez' "veto power." I'd have to look up the stat again, but IIRC TH has averaged a mil coup about once every 8 years for the past century. I should say, mil coup is much more powerful than US pres veto; coz coup can clean out civilian gov top to bottom as they please... where US pres can 'only' veto a given bill which has sausaged its way through the corrupt house & senate. But the "one extra powerful man single-handedly initiating (or merely 'stopping' in the case of US prez) a given action (or paralysis in the case of TH preceding the coup)" comparison still stands... sort of. :)

Monarchies, as I once heard author James Perloff note, are actually tougher (for djooz... Perloff was too PC to say this) to undermine/co-opt than "democratic republics" (most esp fake dem-rep's with fake "elections" (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?53978-FAKE-quot-ELECTIONS-quot-Why-Ron-Paul-Can-t-quot-Win-quot&highlight=fake+paul+can%27t[/url) like in the US...), as long as the king/monarchy actually has best interests of the nation at heart, and aren't on board with djooz' JWO as are all Western monarchies. The Spring '13 TH mil coup was a demonstration of why... stomping out djoo-orchestrated "color revolution" which had plagued TH for years, but most critically in the months preceding the coup.

Ask yourselves, Western jooz.gov slaves: would a true patriot/nationalistic king/monarchy; combined with a mil who was loyal firstly to them-- where said patriotic king could & quite often did just order a coup when the civilian gov gets too subverted by djooz as has been the case in the USA/West since at least WW2... would we be in this fine JWO mess today?

As to the harsh "lese majeste" sentencing of the couple facebook'ers in the OP; "lese majeste" laws are as BS as holohoax-truth-dissemination laws. :(

The Thais (& most of asia AFAIK) BTW, DON'T get the full spectrum cradle to grave holohoaxianity indoctrination which westerners do... :)

ah, yes - but do they have Great Value Ravioli ?

if Israhell (i guess we might call them "Israel", so it is caught better on search engines) doesn't like them, they are looking MUCH better.

figuratively speaking of course :)

^ heh, TH aren't the badboys which their Malaysian neighbors to the south are.

As discussed following the 3 retaliatory joo-message-sendings via 3 downed Mal-based airliners last year, Mal doesn't even recognize izzy's "right to exist" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Malaysia_relations), lol :D

I would watch for China's rise as some sort of a policing power in the East.

If all previous models are followed closely, as they typically are.

the very model of a modern major general.
