Two State Police troopers and a Mercer County sheriff's officer were responding to a report of shots fired at the Prospect Village apartments when they encountered three males walking along Louise Lane, according to the Attorney General's office, which is investigating the shooting.
The three officers got out of their vehicle to question the trio and the 14-year-old ran, authorities said. Witnesses told authorities they saw the teen reach for his waistband before one of the troopers and the sheriff's officer opened fire, the Attorney General's office has said.
A .22-caliber handgun was recovered nearby from under a car on Calhoun Street 12 hours after the shooting, according to the Attorney General's office, which has declined to name anyone involved in the shooting.
Now, the family's lawyer is saying that they'll "be seeking justice." So, we all know that means they'll try and blame the officers. The problem with that is, as we see, there are eyewitnesses who saw the dindu reach for his waistband. Then they FOUND a gun later under a car near the shooting. The way I see it, the police respond to a call of shots fired, they see three black males walking down the street, the one runs from the police, because we know that's a sure indicator that you did nothing wrong (sarcasm). He reaches in his waistband, either chucks the gun under the car, or after he's shot, he drops it and it skitters under the car. Open and shut case. But of course there will be a chimpout and demands for the officer to be tried. Let's just see if NJ stands behind their police officers better than some others do. And looking at the pictures of him on the link, he looks way older than 14. Don't know what they're feeding those young bucks in NJ, but he looks at least 18.
