When you hear gunshots, you can often tell what transpired. A drive by, for example, one loud bang, then a pause and bang bang bang the shooter unloads. There's a pause after the first shot, because the sound stuns the shooter temporarily, then he unloads.

I just heard a crazy gunfight, maybe 20 minutes ago. It was intermittent, a pop here and there, then ended with an epic sound of unloading gunshots. Must have been one hell of a fight. I bet it's on the news in the morning, unless it's covered up. I also bet the police were involved. A lot of rounds were fired in this fight.

it is interesting isn't it. that first shot then a pause. I've heard that as well. Very rarely see reports of guns being discharged by police.

There is someone within a mile or so of me, who 2 times per year unloads their revolver in quick time. 6 shots. Usually 1 or 2 quick shots followed by four in quick succession. Usually in April and then again in September or October. I decided to myself it was probably someone old from a slavic country or some such. Some kind of anniversary or something. Let off some bullets and put it away for another 6 months.

No tales of shoot outs in this town, although I sense it might be changing. A lot more holdups with guns involved these days than there used to be. Gun violence is pretty bad in Melbourne now. Shootings reported most weeks, mainly drive bys.

Stay safe Hitch, I know you got your wits about you. Same goes for everyone here. Everyone matters.

Maybe it's stock brokers offing themselves.

Are you staying at the old female horse island, we talked about in the past up the bay, close to the mothballed floaters?

Trying to get a feel of which community your shots came from.

Have also noticed the same, one or two fast shots...pause..then empty the magazine or cylinder.
