Don't you think you can get a better price with a well kept garden? Or am I oldfashioned?

Down here that's called a water wise native or natural garden. put a crap load of bark chips down and what ever is the least water needing plants in a few places. Call it done.

Astro turf has come a long way as well. Looks like the real thing now. Visited relatives at the weekend, new home, very small front patch. Astro Turf. Without touching it you would have trouble working it out. Hate the stuff myself but that's mainly due to sport related knees, hands, elbows meet skin melting plastic grass with bonus sand grit.

If you go the astro turf route, be sure to have a couple of those plastic pink flamingos. Before all that though, you should try off roading the trailer on your front lawn, see how she does.

With those tires I bet the trailer floated before the jetski. Is it hard to load a jetski on a floating trailer?

Your going to pay a lot of money, to have landscapers roll out lawns, and plant trees and flowers, just before selling the house? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just water the lawn, and cut the grass from time to time?

Are you bringing trailer and truck to Croatia?

The lawn in Saint Augustine and I'll probably start watering it after I get back from Croatia on the 7th, and yes all the truck and trailer are coming with me.

I would screw the grass and throw rock down. Are you under water restrictions in your area GoD?

I would bet that if he saw water running down the street and falling out of the sky's there would be total amazement and wonder what was broke.

I second the rock garden , or because of the current political/physical climate a green yard is politically incorrect because of the drought.

Know a good painter?

Back in the days of lady bird Johnston when Lyndon was prez, my first base was in direct support of him..and her!

The main drag on the base (Bergstrom) because of her beautify America kick all of the grass areas on ether side of the road within eye shot was painted a water soluble green during winter.

Was out at the ranch a few times also doing equipment checks of the stuff we had out there and it was amazing, the base had a c47 and a couple of choppers dedicated for his use also..but that is another story ..

Sorry for the detour ...

Paint your grass or put in native plants and rocks...Green is not in politically there as you know general.

I'm getting my mom's house in Southern California ready for sale and her lawn looks like GODs. I just finished a simple kitchen remodel and the last thing I'll do is lay down sod. The new owners can water it. I'm not sure if I should fill the pool though. Probably will.

The drought is not forever....Hope.

So a pool maybe a selling point>?<

Here if a pool is not kept filled it will come out of the ground, because the ground water will float it.

But I was also thinking that you were talking about filling it with dirt! ! ! !

Silly me !

Lmao !

You live in a swamp?

Almost, between a lake and river! But also the water table here is high in many places in this area! Lot's of river bottom land and floodplains!

Pools in most areas here do need to be kept full or they will float out of the ground !

;)

The pool and grass in the backyard is done. We'll paint at the very end.

Also here's the 1/2 acre I'm looking at building on, I'm looking into buying the lot next to it to make a full acre. Leaving August 31 to finalize the deal and also look at rental properties while the house is being built.

Why so far away from the coast?

Why so far away from the coast?

Because my family is by the capital, plus with the new roads it's only 2 hours to the Adriatic. Not to mention with the business that we're starting I'm building a small warehouse on my property and need to be closer to shipping facilities by the capital. Plus if the business takes off I can buy place on the Adriatic, but so many of my relatives already have places there I can use it's kind of redundant.

Croatia

Croatia's gun laws are based on the following acts:

Croatia Weapons Law (2007) (24)
Law on the Production, Overhaul and Trade in Arms and Military Equipment (2002) (23)
Note: Croatia will most likely become a member of the European Union by July 1st 2013.

Civilians are not allowed to possess all types of automatic arms, semiautomatic arms and repeating long-barreled firearms with a rifled barrel and magazine whose capacity is more than five rounds or with a fixed bayonet, i.e. with a possibility of mounting a bayonet of the arms with the inbuilt integral silencer, silencer intended for arms, long-barreled arms without a fixed grip, with a folding grip or with a grip shorter than 25 cm, arms that propel projectiles by means of explosive or gas substances, and other arms intended exclusively for military or police purposes.

The Croatia Weapons Law allows citizens to acquire weapons if they have a justifiable reason. These reasons include hunting, target shooting (= sport shooting) and self-defense. For each of these reasons, Croatia allows the following firearms:

Hunting weapons: repeating long firearms of different caliber, with rifled or smooth-bore barrels, or a combination of such barrels; long semi-automatic firearms whose magazine cannot be loaded, or is blocked so it is impossible to load, with more than three rounds, short firearms whose barrel is not less than 10 cm, and other arms allowed to be used for hunting by other regulations.
Sporting weapons: repeating and semi-automatic short firearms of different caliber and semi-automatic and repeating long firearms, provided they are specially designed and adapted to be used in target shooting; long firearms with smooth-bore barrels intended for the sport discipline of trap and skeet shooting; stringed weapons and other weapons used in sport disciplines.
Weapons intended for self-defense: short firearms and gas weapons.
Firearm license applicants have to pass a medical examination, showing that they are capable of holding and carrying a weapon. They also have to show that they are equipped with technical knowledge for the adequate use of the weapon. (24)
