This is what happens when you set 2,000 bullets off simultaneously

Slicing bullets with a sword like in the video above is one of the most fantasized cinematic tricks but exploding a bunch of them together doesn't even compare.
Many of the bullets that are produced nationwide need to be destroyed once their lifecycle is over and there is no better way to do it than setting 2,000 of them off at the same time, in one constricted space. While the explosion area may not be the safest spot to be in, the process ensures that expired bullets can no longer be dangerous when stored nor harm their users by malfunctioning when needed.

Question is what is the lifetime..
Back when I shot NRA high Power Service Rifle it seems not that many years ago, I went through a bunch of WW2 30-06 stock that I got from CMP along with a M1 when I first started when I was in competition. And yes it was corrosive ! That was the time before I got into reloading but once I started reloading, I never looked back, I could tune my loads to my guns.
That yes some lots were worthless because as best guesses was not properly stored, but the vast majority fired just fine.
Ammo if stored correctly will almost keep forever imho!
If my house ever catches fire, the fire department will evacuate the nearest neighbors and them selfs stay away, because of the powder/primers and loaded ammo I have stashed all of it match grade!
It is what it is...

Amigo
Not even then will the ammo be bad, most likely...
I have shot some stuff my dad had stored that was loaded/manufactured in the early 1920's that shot just fine and dandy in the early 2000's
Storage conditions are everything !

I shoot WW2 8 mm out of my K98. I've never had a FTF.

Same here. I have fired ww2 ammo with no failures. I have part of a gallon can of 4895 IMR powder that is pre 1960. It is still seviceable. Also I have some very old primers with no failures.

NO !
Compost it. All that Potassium Nitrate and Sulfur and Carbon.
Well the Carbon is not a primary plant nutrient (plants get carbon from the air), but the Potassium, Nitrogen, and Sulfur are.
I say, find some lucky prisoners, like Hillary after her indictments, and have them de-bullet the rounds, and pour all that gunpowder onto a compost pile.
At first the worms will flee because it's too concentrated, but with time, the concentrated Potassium Nitrate Sulfur Carbon mix will get diluted and assimilated. And the end result will be plant food.
And, since it's Hillary doing the de-bullet'ing ... if one goes off ... OK I'll stop there.

There's no gun shows until the middle of Oct. near you. What about the flea markets/swap meets. Probably cost you $25 to get a space to sell them out of the back of your truck.

Try here. I've bought and sold firearms and ammo face to face with no problems.
