Made by Silver State Armory (Nosler) using the vaunted Barnes 70gr. TSX loaded to 5.56 specs. This is aka as 'brown tip' in the sandbox, developed for the sandbox for superior expansion out to 300+ yards. More accurate than Federal Fusion or Speer GD (due to a better BC) and also a barrier blind round. Some of the very best mouse caliber SD rounds at just over $0.80/round shipped during their Labor Day sale. Mouse caliber ammo doesn't get any better than this. For practical purposes ALL your go-to mags should be loaded with this ammo.

Does 'go-to mags' mean, the ones you grab if you're in your house and you hear a sound (or hear something) that make you want to grab a firearm ?
The 5.56 is a fantastic weapon for shooting long distance - it's flatter at 200-300 yards than a 308 ... to get something that shoots 'as flat' you have to go 7 mm Rem. Magnum (the 5.56 has 1.75 cc of gunpowder, the 7 mm RM 5+ cc).
But at close distance ... I have 2 loaded mags next to 2 rifles (box mag, i.e. AR semi-auto), but the one on top is the 300 blackout, which is basically a 30 cal. bullet with as much powder as a 44 Mag. pistol.
I guess that would make it my go-to gun, although obviously I could grab the 5.56.
Maybe I should put my ear-muffs on top. The 5.56 has this screeching loud report that I don't like using without hearing protection ... maybe that's why the 300 is on top.

Inadvisable to fire a centerfire rifle indoors without hearing protection for one thing, the other thing is judicious use of a centerfire rifle in any urban setting. 'Go-to' meaning one's ultimate CQB weapon outdoors - if that role doesn't call for a fighting shotgun.
