those kits seem plenty expensive for not a lot of kit. I know the point is not a lot of kit. Wonder if it can be done for less. I don't have any serious trauma stuff, mostly the regular first aid supplies. I bought 2 work place kits in tool boxes from a business close down and broke them down in to 3. Bought some milsurp pouches. The saline rinse need replacing now but everything else is good.

Found a local supplier of the trauma stuff and can refill the kits with new saline from the oem supplier for $1 each. Add something for stings and sun.

Having looked into the components further, all of the components are first rate. Have you priced out the components individually? Dark Angels vacuum packed refill kit comes out right about the price of buying each of the components individually. From what I'm seeing there isn't enough savings buying the exact same individual items separately to justify doing so, especially when one takes into account the time spent doing so, additional shipping costs, and THEN one would still need to vacuum pack the components.
