The US government is going to have egg on their faces when Putin makes short work of ISIS, something the US could not do.

Edit: I should have said "something the US never intended to do"

something the US could not do.

It is really difficult to destroy something that never had existence to begin with. ISIS is a mental construct intended to keep the global war machine solvent.

I doubt that very much. I'm sure after bombing the targets and propping up the Syrian army with supplies, it won't be necessary to put any Russian troops on the ground...

Unless it is just for the practice, and to show the world it can. However the biggest problem isn't to put them there, the biggest problem starts when it is time to take them home...

It's more then a mental construct...it's a US/Israel entity designed to destabilize Syria and overthrow Assad, on the road to Iran. Putin is messing up years of work of the corrupt US government and their boss Israel.

A dude I know has been a busy little pleb listening to all the media malarkey on ISIS. He commented about six months back that "they have have oil and markets and accountants and all that, no wonder they have a powerful military" I just looked at him and said you cant be serious. He was perplexed.

I told him that the Saudis, Qatar and even the CIA has been pilling money into this group for years. He refused to accept it. I asked him why the western response to the mess was pathetic, he argued all these dumb points I told him to just watch, Russia and Iran have very little patience with the situation and will step up soon, He refused to listen.

Then, about three weeks ago he starts up again with his carefully fed agitprop, I said dude "you've been reading and listening to WAY too much bullshit", he was getting angry (he thinks he is pretty clever) I said "Its going to be over soon, the Russians are sending in heavy artillery and have established a beachhead at their naval base in Tarsus"

He didn't believe me because there has been no news on the telly here. I told him that's the last thing they want you to know...last night he came to me and said I was right and he will never believe his telly again.

This defeat of the western allies is the biggest blunder of foreign policy by the US since Vietnam. Those that have even a cursory interest in geopolitics are realising they have been fed utter bullshit for years, I believe this is going to be a watershed moment...

tick-tock

NATO Should Prepare for War With Russia – UK Officials
Senior British army officials urged NATO authorities to “revisit Cold War scenarios” and prepare for full-scale war in the wake of Russian achievements in the fight against ISIL militants in Syria and development of cutting-edge T-14 Armata battle tanks.

Russia may pay 'volunteers' $50 per day to fight in Syria against ISIS The Kremlin says that Russia has no current plans to deploy ground troops to Syria. But Russian mercenaries, such as those who fought in Ukraine, may be another matter.

Moscow — Russian volunteers who have honed their combat skills in Ukraine are likely to travel to Syria to fight alongside the forces of President Bashar al-Assad, Admiral Vladimir Komoyedov, the head of the Russian parliament's defense committee, said on Monday.
"It is likely that groups of Russian volunteers will appear in the ranks of the Syrian army as combat participants," Komoyedov told the Interfax-AVN news agency.
The Kremlin has said that Russia has no current plans to deploy ground troops to Syria and will confine itself to conducting air strikes to support the Syrian army instead. It has not yet offered a view on the possibility of Russian volunteers or mercenaries fighting in Syria.

Komoyedov was commenting on unconfirmed media reports that some Russian volunteers who had previously fought alongside Kremlin-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine had been spotted fighting with the Syrian army.

"What attracts volunteers apart from ideas? Of course money most likely," said Komoyedov, a lawmaker with the Communist party.
Interfax-AVN quoted unnamed media reports as saying that such volunteers could make $50 per day.
Komoyedov spoke after Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Russian internal republic of Chechnya, told a Russian radio station on Friday he was ready to send Chechen forces to Syria to carry out "special operations" if President Vladimir Putin gave his blessing.
Komoyedov also raised the possibility that Russia's Black Sea Fleet could be used to blockade parts of the Syrian coastline if necessary or to shell Islamist groups on Syrian territory, though he said there was currently no need to use naval firepower because the extremists were too far inland.
Meanwhile, one of Iraq's most powerful Shiite Muslim militias said on Monday it fully supports Russia's intervention and air strikes against Islamic State in the Middle East and accused the United States of being indecisive in its campaign against the group.
Naim al-Uboudi, a spokesman for Asaib Ahl al-Haq, said Russia's air strikes in Syria had already produced results. "We know that the United States, during the past year and a half was not serious about putting an end to Daesh," he said, using an Arabic acronym for Islamic State.
