I would take the M60 tho the bar is also good!

.308 vs. 30-06

Ballistically they are near the same!

308 ~ 3 to 3.3 grams of powder

30-06 ~ 4.2 grams

7 mm Rem. Magnum ~ 4.7 grams.

That extra gram in the 30-06 has got to go somewhere.

And, I know a serious experienced hunter who uses the 7 mm Rem. Mag. because the 30-06 wasn't flat enough at 1/4 mile.

Every time I see a number that makes me do a double-take, e.g. some of the 300 Blackout velocities, it eventually gets explained.

I look up load numbers at
http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

Also at
http://www.loaddata.com/

Load Data has good free info. You have to pay to get the exact grain numbers of the load (for re-loading).

Also they have good articles, e.g. one by a guy named Brian Pierce who presents load numbers that are about 8% higher than the factory max, for Winchester 748 ball powder for the .223/ 5.56.

I have some more firearm websites. But might take a minute to find, got about 100 Chrome windows open.

I think FPS Russia on Youtube is great entertainment, in a pyromaniac sort of way.

https://www.youtube.com/user/FPSRussia/videos

I'm pretty sure he's not Russian, he being Kyle Myers. He got raided by the ATF and then managed to sort all that out, get his blowing-things-up-for-Youtube-entertainment permits, and he just keeps on buying and acquiring and demonstrating serious industrial-strength firearms.

I hope you mean grains and not grams!

Just saying ! One will shoot and fill the case the other will not,!

1 Gram = 15.4323584 Grains and small caliber reloading uses grains!

Just saying!

;D

They're like 48 to 50 grains of gunpowder.

I use a milligram scale. The way it works out, some of the powders, each grain (I call it "chocolate sprinkles" shape) weighs about 1 milligram. So I can get a fairly exact weight by loading it a few milligrams high and then using tweezers to pick out a grain of powder at a time.

Yes, 50 grams of gunpowder would be enough for about 15 bullets. (308's)
