Nothing forum related, but just wanted to make a point about integrity.

I think that's the biggest assault on our culture/nation, is integrity. Pushing a culture of lying, and acceptance of lying, by being the frog in the water that warms up to a boil.

We are lied to constantly, by our media, by our gov, and I've learned, boils my blood, by people I trusted at work.

I'm at a loss. I don't belong in this culture anymore. I should be living in America 200 years ago. I can't relate, to anything going on today. I don't watch TV, I don't care about fashion.

Everything today is Bullshit.

If you look me in the eye, and lie to me, to my face...I will never respect you. That's America today. It's OK to be a backstabbing lying son of a bitch, and nobody seems to care anymore. Everyone has gone complacent.

They often say that the innocence of babes is sweet, heart warming even. That from the mouths of babes comes, honest truth. Because they see it as it is.

Then, when they reach around teen age, their world is destroyed. The innocence lost. Santa is not real. The child struggles with this but comes to realise that the whole of Adutlhood lies to children. They all lie and they are all in on it and they will all fight to keep the "Dream/Lie" of Santa alive. It's a massive conspiracy and all parents are in on it.

And how furious they get when someone lets the secret slip. How dare you destroy my childs' innocence. That's my privilege. The privilege of an adult. To be deceitful, dishonest and worst of all dis-honorable.

Bitching about the Santa thing might seem petty, but I think it's one of the most seriously bad things parents do to their children but its a symbol for what being an adult is these days.

I try and teach people the difference between honor and dishonor. Sometimes you can see why some information is not privy to "the masses". It just gets abused.

Like the lie of social security, should be named social obscurity cause that's where it places you and your society.

Prevention of a lie is knowing that you will never be able to escape from it and into obscurity.

Maybe we all did and are living 200 years ago right now without even being aware of it? lol

Mobs are subject to irrational actions as a result of distorted reality. James Allen suggests we are each responsible for weeding our own gardens. He is not suggesting you grow a better garden. Your mind is your garden and irrational or evil thoughts are the weeds that need pulling. Ultimately only you are responsible for your thoughts and actions.

There are no thought police around just yet but actions have a relation to intent and society fights to steer their ship of state using whatever means at their disposal. These means include false flag events and lying and does not exclude collateral damage to innocent bystanders.

Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusaation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

[CHORUS]
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind

When the truth is found to be lies
And all the joy within you dies
Don't you want somebody to love, don't you
Need somebody to love, wouldn't you
Love somebody to love, you better
Find somebody to love

If you hate lies, then you love truth. You have a chance. There are many who hate truth and love lies.

Messiah said- I am the way the truth and the light. None come to the Father except through me.

You cannot love Messiah if you don't love the Truth. This is a good test for those you deal with. See if they are lovers of truth or lies.

Should I go back to the store and give them the right price?

I bought this, 32 oz maple syrup, at the store today for my new year's resolution. It wasn't marked, so the check out guy sold it to me for $3. I looked online, and it's priced at $32. Who knew it was that expensive.

Can we change the name of the forum to gold-silver-maplesyrup.us? Or maybe create a subforum for Book to explain the ethical difference between buying something at a good price and stealing something that doesn't belong to them.

I have never stolen anything in my whole life.

In kindergarten I stole a childrens book I liked. I stuffed it in my backpack and never told anyone till now. I remember it since I know it was wrong, and people with a conscience don't forget those kinds of things.

Everyone has stolen something in their life. I doubt you're that saintly.

I BOUGHT the maple syrup.

The unfortunate truth is that a fiat dollar has never effected the change of ownership of anything.

That is to say, you might have walked into a store, selected a jar or bottle of maple syrup, exchanged some paper with the clerk in exchange for a paper receipt and walked out with the goods. And in all of these transactions the maple syrup never changed owners.

Odd isn't it?

Yet if you had run into the store, grabbed the maple syrup and ran out, ownership actually would have changed yet you would have been hunted like a dog and killed in the street.

You see you really don't recognize where the real battle is these days.

Palani, please explain how ownership never changed. Whomever holds the goods, owns it. Maple syrup, gold, anything tangible. If you don't hold it, you don't own it. I traded paper for syrup, thus, the ownership of the syrup changed hands by consent. Consent, on both parties is the important term here. Stealing, one party never consents to it.

Why would you presume that the shop owner actually owned the syrup?

Do you believe that Walmart owns all the goods they profess to sell?

Or are they merely acting as agents for the owner?

And are you acting as an agent for the same owner?

Thank you for asking me to explain to you the ethical difference between paying what you yourself know and call the "right price" of $32 and walking out after only paying what you yourself know and call the mistaken $3 price. You obviously knew the $3 price was a mistake because you went home and immediately looked it up on the internet. You obviously then felt guilty enough to thereafter post the above asking us fellow GSUS for moral permission to keep this $32 syrup without paying what you yourself above call the "right price".

You claim to be a "former" police officer and should already know better at age 42 but here is the answer, as requested, to your tragic moral question:

IT IS PERMISSIBLE TO PROFIT FROM THE MISTAKE OF A GENTILE Samuel said:It is permissible, however, to benefit by his mistake as in the case when Samuel once bought ofa heathena golden bowl under the assumption of it being of copper for four zuz, and also left him minus one zuz. R. Kahana once bought of a heathen a hundred and twenty barrels which were supposed to be a hundred while he similarly left him minus one zuz and said to him: ‘See that I am relying upon you.’ - 1962 Soncino Babylonian Talmud, Baba Kamma 113b (http://www.come-and-hear.com/babakamma/babakamma_113.html#PARTb)

Deception in Business It is a grave sin to practice any kind of deception whatsoever against a Jew. Against a Gentile it is only forbidden to practice direct deception. Indirect deception is allowed, unless it is likely to cause hostility towards Jews or insult to the Jewish religion. The paradigmatic example is mistaken calculation of the price during a purchase. If a Jew makes a mistake unfavorable to himself, it is one's religious duty to correct him. If a Gentile is spotted making such a mistake, one need not let him know about it, but say "I rely on your calculation," so as to forestall his hostility in case he subsequently discovers his own mistake.

Since you keep reminding us that you are an honest Catholic and not a scheming jew parasite, the answer is obviously no, you don't have my permission to steal this $29 from your local grocery store. For more moral advice scroll up to the OP of this thread which you yourself posted.

Without guilt, the Catholic religion would have died centuries ago. All religion is based on one thing....the backbone of every religion is theirs is the ONLY religion and theirs is the ONLY TRUE God. Non-believers of every religion are frowned upon by the 'believers' and often, much worse. Can anyone see the social problems that might be created among otherwise good men with this type of religious mind control?

Welcome to the forum. It's nice to see some new members here. Integrity seems to be the most valuable thing to some of us, but sold off cheaply to many. I'm a bit younger than you, but been around long enough to see this country so fucked up at this point...culture wise, it's disturbing. Unfortunately we live in an intrusive world where cops and bureaucrats ask us questions we should not answer. To refuse an answer to a bureaucrat is regarded as an admission of guilt.

If an individual asks you a question like "did you break a law?", it is usually regarded as an admission of guilt. You tell the truth and you give them power over you.

Sometimes a lie is better than the truth in a world of lies.

That's actually a great point, Horn. If two parties agree on a price, and the transaction is made...Book seems to think that's Jewish. That's pretty much against what anyone else on this forum seems to agree with.

Good post, and good point.

A product isn't listed with a price, both seller and buyer agree on a price. A transaction is made. Book says I'm Jewish because I'm the buyer. That sums it up. I'm actually Catholic, lol. This forum is cheap entertainment, I don't know why anyone takes anything seriously here...

I've never stolen anything. You are posting lies.

Is that your legacy? Lies? Is that how people on this forum should view you?

You need to have some self respect. Nobody can respect you here. It's impossible, when you troll and lie like you do.

I'm trying to help you.

I'd like to think that people on this forum, can see through Bullshit. You offer a lot of Bullshit at us.

What I don't understand, is why you seem to have a hard on for me. I'm really not anyone important. I tend to get lost in the crowd. Yet, YOU, you son of a bitch, are like a bulldog picking a fight.

If we could me face to face, that would be fair, but you coward asshole likes to hide behind the internet.

You started this sanctimonious thread about your so-called integrity. You confirmed at Amazon that same day that you only paid $3 for that $32 bottle of real maple syrup. You knew that same day that the "right" price is $32. You knew your Grocer does not allow his "checkout guy" to barter with customers. Read your own sanctimonious OP in this thread again:

Book, thanks for actually answering my question. I thought you were going to pull another Aids Skrillex, and just yell and whine. You have a right to your opinion, and I can see this situation really bothers you since you keep bringing it up.

After reading the bartering thread, and some of the amazing deals Agnut and others have gotten, I don't think I was stealing. At the time, the clerk, and myself had no idea what that product was worth. He was an employee, and a representative of that market. He offered a price, and I accepted it.

Furthermore, to accuse me of theft, means I have committed a crime. No cop could arrest me in this situation, because there was no crime. According the elements of the PC, there was no "theft" in this situation. I did not take any property criminally from another.

Between 45 and 50 gallons of sap. We extract via reverse osmosis close to 50% of the water prior to boil, cutting way back on the length of time it takes to boil.

We did 300 gallons this year from ~500 trees. many a night of homebrews and cooking. Jourdain Farms. Oh BTW $55 a gallon for a grade A medium.

I can't get that stuff over here, only have honey as a substitute.

or that stuff they try and call maple syrup that tastes like brown sugar and honey.
