I was going to say, all it needed were some trauma/clotting bandages and its good to go...... BUT

Sterile sponges; Ammonia inhalants; Tape rolls and adhesives; Trauma dressings; Bleedstop bandages

Already in there. Good price also for a fair amount of kit. I always think FA kits are pretty expensive but looks good value to me.

I ended up ordering one. That kit is 1/3 the price of the other ones I was looking at, with almost the same amount of gear. The only thing missing is a cpr face shield. I've already got a few of those. I'll review the kit when I get it.

Thanks Mick. I was looking at that kit as well. I almost ordered it, but just wanted to see this one first aid kit first.

Thanks for recommending this site.

Nice kit to have -- but I don't believe in "bugging out". I'm hunkering down where I'm at

Yeah, all of my stuff is at home. I think having a bag in your car is a good idea. but that's only for you to get home. [extra ammo, a HT ham radio if you don't have an RT in your car, misc. stuff you should have all the time anyways, etc.]

I also think the BoB is to get you to your safe place. 3 days. Even if you only have a short distance it can take a while if all hell has broken loose. hiding out when needed and moving when its safer.

I know US cities can be spread out and 4 - 6 lane freeways link up major parts. There can be a fair bit of open ground between those parts and with either the local population running amok or the FEDS black helicoptering every one it can be tough to get to safety.

I wanted to have a couple of options depending on where I was when SHTF. Either heading to my home in the first instance if safe enough or if I was at home already, moving out of the city. That journey could take 4 to 5 days on foot. And unfortunately the "wrong side of the tracks" is between me and the city limits.... for probably half of the journey.

I had hoped I'd be further along with getting different modes of transport and maybe some solid bug out locations to go to.

I'm staying put as well. It's really not running, which I like the idea behind because running away, is for cowards. It's staying where you are at and surviving because you are prepared. My big issue is I'm gone for days at a time for work, in a big city. If SHTF while I'm away at work, I'm screwed. What I'm hoping for though, I can get out of the city while most folks are still shell shocked. I figure we may have at least one day to get out of the city.

Mick, I got that first aid kit, and am very happy with it. It's really well put together, and for the price, I don't think you could build a kit like that and end up saving money. It has a big selection of trauma dressings.

Anyway, I'll probably get that surgical kit next. Thanks again for recommending that site. Also, fast shipping as well.
